The wait is over! The URSA Mini 4.6K Digital Cinema Cameras are now in stock here at B&H. While the 4K variants of the URSA Mini have been available for some time now, the hotly anticipated 4.6K version, with its improved sensor block, not only offers more physical resolution, it also includes an expanded 15-stop dynamic range, more raw compression options, and 120 fps slow motion with sensor crop. The greater-than-4K resolution of the new sensor also opens the doors for recording DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution, ready-to-edit, ProRes files.
The external appearance and ergonomics of the 4.6K model are identical to the 4K model, as are the physical features. The flexible lightweight magnesium-alloy chassis lets you easily take on projects ranging from locked-down cinema-style to shoulder-mounted run-and-gun ENG doc style, and anywhere in between. The detachable rosette handle has convenient camera controls for essential functions.
If you want to build up the 4.6K URSA Mini, take a look at the Shoulder-Mount Kit, the V-Mount Battery Plate, and the URSA Viewfinder. These accessories give you the ability to unleash the production potential of these cameras. Now that the 4.6K models are available, they make an excellent upgrade choice for those who already own the 4K version, since all the accessories will retain their usefulness. On larger shoots, the 4.6K model serves as a great A-camera choice, while the 4K model can be used for high-action scenes requiring a global shutter.
The camera can be ordered with either a passive PL mount or an active EF mount, depending on your lens preference. The PL-mounted version adds a lens communication port for full compatibility with digital and analog 2/3" ENG lenses and their servos; useful when the separately available B4 Lens Mount is attached.
