IndiPRO Tools Micro-Series Li-Ion V-Mount Battery Line-Up

IndiPRO Tools and its Micro-Series of 98Wh batteries and battery kits fit the new paradigm for battery power, providing camera power and supporting high-current draw, all in a size that, not too long ago, wouldn’t have enough power except for specialty low-weight shots. You may not remember it, but there was a time when you needed several battery belts, or a battery the size of a large handbag, to get through half a production day. Sure, the ENG guys all had bricks, and these batteries weighed as much, if not more, than a brick—and you needed a ton of them. Those days are pretty much over now, thanks to Lithium-Ion technology and some nifty engineering to provide unheard of power-to-weight performance, while adhering to safety guidelines for flying.

The Micro-Series 98Wh V-Mount battery is a micro-wonder, with 98Wh of power contained neatly inside a battery less than five inches tall. Not only does the battery have a generous capacity, it allows high-current draws up to 12 amps, available through its V-mount for powering cameras or lights. A built-in D-Tap supports power draws up to 3 amps, but don’t exceed a 12-amp total draw on the battery; still, this will be sufficient for most situations you run into. And there is a USB power port in addition to the D-Tap, both with rubber covers that provide some protection from dust and water when the ports are not in use. A five-LED power gauge enables seeing roughly how much power the battery has left without hooking it up to a camera.

The battery is available by itself, as well as in kits of a single battery and portable two bay charger or two batteries with said portable two bay charger. The charger itself can charge two batteries simultaneously, or be used as a camera power supply when plugged into AC power. It is suitable for travel, as well, because it supports worldwide power, so you can take it with you on production to virtually anywhere in the word there is AC power, and keep your batteries charged. So, for small size, high draw, and flexibility, IndiPRO Tools new Micro series of batteries and kits are a worth a look.
