Go bad quickly

Over the years I've had to replace these often. After two few charge cycles they begin to loose bars. I've had two completely die. Very affordable and great compact size, but not really a daily workhorse battery.

Solid battery, lasts a full shoot on the Pocket 6K

This battery kit is great, I do live event recording and needed a battery pack to affix to a tripod to save time on setup (running power to the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema cameras was a huge time waster). It lasted about 5 hours before getting down to 1 bar. I used an Impact Super Clamp, Smallrig 15mm carbon fiber rods, and the Smallrig lightweight 15mm rod block set to mount this unit to a tripod leg or center column. The cable from the plate is a little short (a good thing, I think), so you do have to get the battery pretty close to the camera. The V-mount plate is maybe a bit overpriced, but it's worth it for the time saved. Buying myself another set for my other Blackmagic camera!

Incredible battery! Great capacity (about 4-5 hours with RED Komodo + Accessories) and is still fairly small and light!

Excellent battery for my BM6K Pro and the price is good.

can't hold charge, charges slow, loud, oversized, overpriced

By far the worst V-mount batteries and charging set I've ever used, as if it was designed to be as worst-performing in every way. It runs louder and hotter than any other, while charging slower. Everything is way bigger than it needs to be as well, all the competitors perform much better with smaller size, while being quieter and cooler. These batteries can't hold anywhere close to the advertised capacity.

Juice to spare

I use these guys with GoPro 10 units and Media Mods to livestreem and can video four consecutive volleyball games (consisting of best 3 of 5 matches, which sometimes go 5 matches). They also power the wireless transmitters on each camera. At the end, I've still got juice in these monsters!

Couldn't Hold a Charge is it wanted to

My first one defected prematurely so they replaced it under warranty and the second one they sent me gives me about an hour and a half of life before going caput. I'm not running anything spectacular, just a BMPCC6K and an atmos shinobi out the d tap. I know these batteries are cheap but you could definitely do better for less. I can't say I'll be shopping for indiPRO tools again.

4 of these powered FX3, Ninja V, Nucleus M handle + motor, Cine eye 2s, charged a tentacle sync and powered an eye light - while it was all running for 8-10 hour days nearly continuous shooting for 3 weeks. Great value when on sale and even when not. Get the Dual kit the (charger is faster than the singles). And pick up some velcro strips (tentacle ones work well) for the top and sides and have a place to stick things or cable management.

Will the USB-A on the battery supply enough voltage to run the Canon R5 using the USB-C? Is it a power delivery port?
Asked by: Mike
It powers my aputure 120d, so I would assume it would be able to handle the Canon for hours. I am by no means an expert in power and battery though. I hope that helps.

Can the battery be used to power a camera while ...

Can the battery be used to power a camera while plugged into the charger? The DTap charger is a lot easier to attach and detach safely than the BMP6K's native power plug. The box doesn't seem to have included an instruction manual, so I'm unable to determine whether trying to charge and discharge simultaneously is valid/safe usage.
Asked by: Charles
It's not advisable to use a D tap charger to charge the battery while powering the camera simultaneously because of possible issues of handling the voltages with the on board power management of the battery. If you have a battery plate that offers power in with outputs like the Wooden Camera D-Box builds, that is a route to consider.

What would be the best way to safely power my Atomos Ninja V and Sony A7S III without frying my HDMI port? Is it safe to power the Ninja V with DTap and my camera with USB C on the Indipro V Mount Plate?
Asked by: Antoine
Hi Antione. You will be able to power your Ninja V, but you will not be able to power your camera via USB C with this setup. You need a USB-PD device (and a battery in the camera) to power the camera via USB-C. Depending on you battery options or your v-mount adapter plate, you will have options to power both, but you will need a dummy battery to power your camera. I am going with the Kondor Blue V-mount plate, using a D-Tap to locking DC to power Ninja V and a Blue Kondor DC to Dummy battery to power the camera. You can also use a D-Tap splitter to power power from one D-Tap. Peace!
