Lighten Up and Go with the Latest DJI from Ronin: the SC Stabilizer

Better add some bicep curls to your gym routine, with DJI’s new, lighter Ronin-SC Gimbal Stabilizer, your arm will not be getting a stiff workout while using your gimbal. With a weight of 2.4 lb, the single-arm Ronin-SC gimbal is almost half as light as the original Ronin-S, yet offers advanced stabilization and improved, dedicated shooting modes. In a nod to the increasing use of compact mirrorless cameras for video capture, the Ronin-SC supports payloads up to 4.4 lb, a range encompassing most popular combinations of mirrorless camera and lenses.

Running around multiple locations for your exterior production while the sun sails merrily along toward the horizon? The sleek, portable Ronin-SC features a quick-release plate and positioning block system that enable you to remount your camera easily in its previously balanced position—a true timesaver on set! It also sports individual mechanical locks, enabling you to immobilize each axis while balancing or transporting the gimbal between locations.

In keeping with the Ronin-SC’s accent on mobility and ease of use, you can now incorporate your smartphone into your gimbal use for a greater variety of functions. Currently available for select devices, the Ronin-SC ActiveTrack 3.0 mode provides precision facial recognition and both automatic and manual subject tracking. Perhaps even more exciting, the Force Mobile function enables you to use your iOS mobile device to control the gimbal’s movement. This not only eliminates the need to carry a separate control device, it also lets you create devilishly detailed, creative shots, splitting control between two operators or by controlling the gimbal remotely while it is mounted to a tripod, dolly, RC vehicle, or other support.

A few button presses trigger the Ronin-SC’s Sport Mode, designed to track fast-moving action accurately, whether it’s of breathtaking snowboarding or skiing moves, a ball game, a dance performance, wildlife, or even your beloved pet’s antics in your quest for Internet fame! Of course, the Ronin app-based Panorama, Timelapse, Motionlapse, and Motion Control functions familiar to Ronin-S users are also available for unleashing your creativity with the Ronin-SC. Continuous 360° panning, focus control options, a long-lasting battery charge of up to 11 hours, USB Type-C charging, auto-calibration, and motor overload protection round out the bevy of Ronin-SC features.
