OConnor Updates Its Line of Fluid Heads, Tripods, and Spreaders

OConnor has announced several new additions to its line of tripods, including the updated Ultimate 1040 fluid head, flowtech 100 2-stage tripod, companion spreaders, and a comprehensive 1040 head with flowtech 100 tripod kit. All OConnor components feature quality materials such as carbon fiber, magnesium, aluminum alloy, and stainless steel, which allow its tripod systems to hold large loads easily while remaining relatively lightweight for their required duties.

The Ultimate1040 fluid head improves on its predecessor, the 1030, with a greater payload support of up to 45 lb, and it retains all the well-known OConnor fluid-head features such as a smooth, continuous drag adjustment, OConnor's hyper-accurate Sinusoidal counterbalance system with a wide balance range, a +/- 90 tilt range, and the same accessory options as other OConnor heads. It also comes with a large Euro “touch and go” quick-release plate and an 11.5" long pan handle with a 30º bend that helps ergonomically and with fine adjustment. The head features a 100mm bowl, but it can also be swapped out with optional mounts such as a 150mm, Mitchell, 4-bolt, 3-bolt, or a quick fix mount.

The flowtech 100 is a carbon fiber workhorse with a 100mm ball mount. Though relatively lightweight, it can support a fluid head with a rig weighing up to 66 lb. The legs feature two stages with three sections, which can extend from 10.2" up to more than 60" and feature gripping rubber feet to keep the legs steady. Each leg can move independently or use optional spreaders, and they lock using magnets to make it quick and easy to set up and break down. You can even attach accessories or attachments using the tripod's three 3/8" mounting threads and attachment mount.

OConnor's new releases also include a complete tripod system that includes the 1040 head, the flowtech 100 tripod, a carry handle, and a case, to help get you started with all the gear you need to support your rig. The company has also released a ground spreader and a mid-level spreader for the flowtech 100 tripod, both constructed with durable, lightweight material in case you need additional stability.
