RED WEAPON and MONSTRO are Now Available at B&H!

While RED Digital Cinema Cameras have been available at B&H for the last several months, we are pleased to announce that the RED WEAPON HELIUM 8K S35 and the RED WEAPON MONSTRO 8K VV cameras are now available for purchase, besides the already available RED EPIC-W, RED SCARLET-W, and RED RAVEN.

The RED WEAPON HELIUM features the familiar DSMC2 form factor, and is manufactured from woven carbon fiber, keeping weight to a minimum while being robust enough for high-end cinema production. To complete the vibe, a carbon fiber DSMC2 Sidekick is included. For additional weight savings, the PL mount included with the camera is constructed using magnesium, a metal known for its strength, light weight, and resistance to temperature shifts. While the eponymous HELIUM 8K Super 35 sensor is available in the RED EPIC-W, the RED WEAPON model takes further advantage of the sensor's capabilities. At the highest available resolution, full-format setting (8192 x 4320), the RED WEAPON HELIUM can crank out 60 fps, with an 8K 75 fps option available in the 2.4:1 aspect ratio. Additionally, lower compression ratios are available, with 5:1 compression being the least compressed option in 8K full-format resolution at 24 fps. MONOCHROME and STEALTH-logo variations, as well as 3 OLPF packs for non-monochrome models.

If large-format cinematography is your thing, check out the RED WEAPON MONSTRO. Though the MONSTRO is not RED's first foray into large-format cinema cameras, it is the first large format from RED to utilize RED's latest sensor and image processing technologies to realize over 17 stops of dynamic range at the same wide array of frame rate and compression ratio options offered in the Super 35 HELIUM 8K WEAPON models. Also like the HELIUM models, the MONSTRO features a woven carbon fiber chassis and a magnesium PL lens mount.
