Step up your on-camera monitor rig with professional features using the new Atomos Ninja V Pro Kit, for high-resolution 4K video recording as well as livestreaming your production to the Internet. The kit provides your independent documentary or mobile broadcast production with the Ninja V 5" 4K HDMI recording monitor, a workhorse display that gives you 4K ProRes recording functionality, the AtomX SDI module, a pre-activated SDI RAW recording firmware license, a sun hood, a D-Tap power cable, a dummy battery cable, and for a limited time, the Atomos Connect is included so you can livestream your production. Plus, many of these features will be available for existing Ninja V owners with the AtomX SDI module.
The Ninja V Pro Kit
The Ninja V allows you to monitor and record up to DCI 4K60 video and output sensor imagery right onto an attached SSD using its HDMI output. Its bright 1000 cd/m2 display suits it perfectly to view crisp, clear images on its FRC IPS screen for indoor or outdoor settings, and its AtomHDR technology supports HDR log formats and LUTs for a variety of popular camera models. Its numerous features include analysis and focus assist tools, anamorphic de-squeeze, an L-series battery plate, and a durable aluminum chassis to protect it in rugged production environments.
To expand the monitor’s output capability, the included AtomX SDI module mounts on the monitor and provides two 12G-SDI outputs to send up to 4K video to a variety of industry-standard recorders and switchers. When the unit is installed, it also supports HDMI-SDI cross-conversion, as well as simultaneous output to HDMI and the two 12G-SDI outputs. With the Pro Kit inclusion of the pre-installed SDI RAW license, you can also output up to 12-bit 6K ProRes RAW video via both the HDMI and SDI outputs, in addition to ProRes 4K. The Ninja V is then transformed to support RAW SDI output from the newest and most popular cinema cameras, such as the Sony FX9 and FX6, RAW output from the Panasonic VariCam LT and EVA-1, and DCI 4K from the Canon C500 and C500 Mark II.
To add even more functionality, the included Atomos Connect 4K will allow you to broadcast your camera feed while monitoring. Using the HDMI output from the monitor and a USB UVC input on a computer, the thumb drive-sized Connect allows you to send your live 1080p60 video stream to a streaming app such as Facebook Live, Skype, YouTube, Vimeo, Zoom, Teams, and a variety of other livestreaming services.
Also included in the Pro Kit is a sun hood to protect your Ninja V from unwanted glare, a D-Tap power cable to keep your monitor rig powered up from a professional battery, a DC power supply, and a dummy battery/battery eliminator to power your Ninja V monitor from a separate power source of your choice.
For Existing Owners
If you already own a Ninja V and the AtomX SDI Module you aren't going to be locked out of all these features. The v10.61 firmware update will unlock SDI/HDMI cross conversion for 422 inputs. The RAW over SDI function will require a separate activation key available from the Atomos website for $99. Stay tuned for more details, Atomos says this update will become available in February 2021.
