Versatile as all get-out, the new Panasonic S1 Cage from Zacuto packs a lot of features into its lightweight, compact full-cage frame. Use it to protect, support, and add accessories to your LUMIX DC-S1, S1R, or the upcoming S1H mirrorless camera. From the integrated Arca-Swiss plate at the bottom to the Z-Rail at the top, this cage has your S1 covered with all-around options.
Three-point mounting on your camera, using a ¼"-20 camera screw plus two screw-in neck strap connections, enables this “no-cage” to maintain access to the camera’s original handgrip. If you like, you can then add an optional handgrip like Zacuto’s Side Handle or the wooden-ball Zarn handle to the left side of the cage for a dual-handgrip setup. The S1 cage’s cushy hand strap provides additional security for handheld use, and it can be used with the optional Top Handle or with the Extended Top Handle if you’re using the Sony XLR-K2M adapter kit.
That built-in Arca-Swiss mount provides compatibility with the Zacuto Polaris Mounting Plate or any A-S type quick-release mounting system, enabling you to jump quickly between tripod, shoulder mount, or other camera supports. For 15mm LWS rod support for accessories like a follow focus, matte box, and/or a shoulder support, add the Polaris Baseplate to the cage. The cage bottom also sports standard 3/8"-16 and ¼"-20 threads for compatibility with almost any tripod plate.
Use the S1 Cage’s multiple ¼"-20 threads, one top Z-Rail, and one cold shoe to attach accessories like a small light, mic, or wireless receiver. Additional cage features include an HDMI cable clamp, a right-angle HDMI adapter, and non-slip pads on the camera-mount surface.
