Aerial Imaging with DJI Mavic Drones
Using DJI Mavic drones for aerial recording is not only a fun hobby, but also a practical solution for architecture, search and rescue, as well as other types of projects and applications. They're equipped with high-quality, 4K stabilized gimbal cameras, allowing the capture of detailed images and footage. They also stand up to harsh environmental conditions, such as wind up to 22 mph and high temperatures. If you're looking for a drone capable of carrying heavier cameras, check out DJI Matrice drones.
How to Control a Mavic Drone
Mavic air drones usually include remote controls, but they're also maneuverable using DJI's app on a tablet or smartphone. Note the control range to stay in communication with the drone and ensure that it receives commands. There are also automatic return home commands to quickly bring a drone back, and "core lock" for determining the "head" of the drone and providing accurate directional orientation. Mavic drones are recommended for experienced flyers. Other designs, such as DJI Flame Wheel drones, include features such as takeoff assistance to make getting into the air easier for beginners.
Mavic Drone Applications
In addition to taking them on your personal adventures, Mavic drones are suitable for many commercial applications and for capturing highly-detailed data on geographic locations. They're useful for mapping out and surveying areas for construction, and for getting high-quality aerial shots in cinematography. Drones can also save lives, using thermal imaging cameras to show the extent of forest fires, and to locate lost persons or those otherwise in need of assistance.
Keeping a Drone in Working Condition
Keeping Mavic drones well maintained and operable is important—but also easy—with the many available DJI drone accessories. Buy extra batteries if you want to shoot longer. Keep extra rotors for when your rotors are damaged. Mavics can break down efficiently and be kept in protective cases.
