KRK Rokit 8 G3 overview

  • 1Description

The Rokit 8 G3 from KRK is a 100W two-way active studio monitor for your home or professional studio. Equipped with a bi-amped, class A/B amplifier that powers a 8" woofer and a 1" tweeter, the Rokit 8 G3 is designed to offer maximum headroom with minimal distortion. The soft-dome tweeter, which provides extended response up to 35kHz, is designed with a proprietary waveguide that is optimized for improved imaging. The aramid glass composite woofer has been engineered to deliver a clear response in the midrange along with a tight low end.

The speaker is housed in a low resonance enclosure that includes a factory installed foam pad at the bottom to provide improved isolation from the surface it's set upon. Under the woofer there is a front firing port that provides an extended low frequency response while reducing boundary coupling at the same time. Additionally, the enclosure features radiused edges that reduce distortion caused by diffraction.

The Rokit 8 G3 also provides flexible connectivity, allowing for input via XLR, TRS or RCA connection. It also provides both low and high frequency adjustments so you can tailor the speaker's response curve to your personal taste.

    KRK Rokit 8 G3 reviews

    Rokit 8 G3 - 100W 8" Two-Way Active Studio Monitor (Single) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 DOA I read a bunch of reviews recommending this monitor. Ordered two: both were DOA. Returned them & ordered two more. One worked, the other took two months to fail. Called KRK repair. KRK does not reimburse for shipping. After experiencing a 75% failure rate (in this case), and losing the cost for shipping and time, I realize the value of good service. I don't believe warranty service should cost the customer, and I don't recommend these speakers, or anything else by KRK. The sound? Meh. I got more bass response (and more control options) out of a pair of M-Audio BX-8s. The KRKs have been a lousy experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ROKITS are best for producing & MIXING I use the ROKITS to both produce and mix. With the NEW LF adjustment on hte G3's I bring up the BASS to produce hip hop and reggae. When I am ready to mix I lower the LF adjustment and find the perfect balance with Highs and Lows. These are the ONLY monitors in this price range that can do that. Trust me I have tested all others and these are the TRUTH. LOVE THEM and highly recommended to the MAX

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KRK Rokit 8's are Great! I am writing this review to give an accurate representation of my experience with KRK Rokit 8's. I must start by saying that I have purchased numerous products from B&H over the years, and their customer service is truly second to none. Now to my experience with the Rokits...I use them in a 12X12 studio room, set up on stands, with 6ft of space between them. I have been using these monitors for nearly 2 years now, and I really love them. It took some time to break them in (about 24 hours worth of music played). I ran through every genre of music (except country) to give them an idea of what to expect in the future. When I listened to Hans Zimmer through these during the break in period, I was thoroughly impressed. I produce music using Logic and Ableton, and for my style, the KRKs fit the bill quite nicely. They have a rich low end, and the mid range sounds just as great, but the highs can get a bit shrill in the higher range. I have the high frequency adjusted accordingly to my liking. The selectable knobs for LF, HF, and volume are great, plus they feel solid. I use them mainly for music production, but listening to music is also just as pleasant. Some might say that you don't need a subwoofer with the Rokit 8's, but to truly experience a full range, I think that it is necessary with any studio set up, regardless of brand. These monitors will hit incredibly low frequencies, and they do so with confidence, but if you produce music involving numerous types of subsonic frequencies, then get a sub too. For the money, I don't think there is a better set of monitors out right now. I must give credit where credit is due, the JBLs sound great, but the Rokits are phenomenal. The Rokits weigh nearly 30 pounds a piece, so buy nice stands! They were a great investment, and I have been extremely pleased with their performance over the years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from buy at your own peril I purchased a pair about 3 years ago, then after about a year and a half 1 of them just stopped working. The power comes on but no sound, so I decided to replace it and bought 1 new one, but I kept the old one. after another 2 years all 3 speakers were not working!...finally took them to the distributor to see if it needed a small repair, turns out the circuit boards forALL 3 WHERE BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR. Couldn't do anything about it so I told them to discard them. The worst qualityproductI have ever come across. BEWARE
