The Prophet '08 PE Analog Synthesizer Module from Dave Smith Instruments is an 8-voice analog synthesizer that features 2 digitally controlled oscillators per voice. Each oscillator offers you the selection between sawtooth, triangle, saw/triangle mix, pulse waves, and hard sync waves. In addition, each voice also features an analog Curtis low-pass filter. The Prophet '08 module also has 3 envelope generators, 4 LFOs, a 16x4 step sequencer, and an arpeggiator to further alter, manipulate, and shape your sounds.
You can connect a sustain pedal and an expression pedal to the Prophet '08 module. The expression pedal input doubles as an input for control voltage for further sonic manipulation. Designed to provide a hands-on experience, the Prophet '08 parameters are adjusted via knobs. Four 1/4" unbalanced TS outputs provide audio output, while a stereo 1/4" headphone connection allows for playing in quiet environments. The Prophet '08 module has 5-pin DIN MIDI input, output, through, and a poly chain output that allows you to link it to a second Prophet '08 module or keyboard to increase the voice count to 16. A pair of rack ears is included for rack mounting the unit.
