Areca ARC-5040 8-Bay 3 Gbps SATA Drive RAID Subsystem

The ARC-5040 8-Bay 3 Gbps SATA Drive RAID Subsystem from Areca unleashes a truly innovative multiple host (with 3 Gbps eSATA, USB 3.0, FireWire 800, iSCSI/AoE and USB2.0) solution for both PC and Mac. The eSATA port delivers over 220 MBps sustained RAID 0 reads and over 210 MBps RAID 0 sequential writes.

The high transfer rates make the RAID subsystem well suited for audio/video applications, especially in view of the rapidly growing demand from the Mac video editing markets. The intelligent cooling system continuously adapts to environmental conditions by automatically controlling the speed of the cooling fans. This super silent design provides you a cost effective storage solution while optimizing the balance between noise reduction and necessary cooling.
