I have a Canon 5D Mark ll. Looking to do a 10 hour time lapse. What is the largest memory size that this camera will read? I just tried 2 different 256GB cards and the camera will not format or read them - even after "deep formatting" on my laptop.

Yes it is compatible, according to Canon's website: The EOS-1D X will work with cards that are compliant with the UDMA 7 standard, as well as previous UDMA-compliant cards. We strongly suggest UDMA-type CF cards from any major CF card manufacturer.
