Gra-Vue MIO 4HDMI Reviews

Good multi viewer, great price

How I use it: I use these as video quads to bring in 4 HD streams from camcorders, GoPros and computers. I then run the output signal into an Elgato Game Capture HD h.264 hardware encoder to record directly to a computer. Things that are great about the product: The MIO is easy to setup. Plug in up to 4 HDMI sources and pull the power in. The standard view is a quad screen with mic levels for each channel. You can use this straight out of the box. You can edit the setting using the built in web server. This is a bit cumbersome to get connected to if you don't know network setup but once you are in it is easy enough to change setting like video position, adding clocks, and alarms for frozen video. On of the best things is the price. It is one of the most affordable I have found. Also the size makes it great for portable setups. I have this installed rack mount and in-vehcicles. The construction is durable and easily mounted. Things that are not so great: The device on has DVI output. I would have liked HDMI out so that I could just use HDMI cables everywhere. It also only outputs 60p at 1080 which meant that it would not work with my IoHD (thought I prefer using the Elgato h.264 encoders since they are cheap, work well, and I wanted encoded video recording anyway). The web interface is a bit hard to get to when you (I needed to set plug my laptop into it and then set a static IP in the range of the MIO web server to get on it). Overall, this is a really good product at a very good price point and works quite well with consumer and prosumer HDMI camera equipment. There are enough setting to make it a powerful multi viewer while still keeping a small form factor for easy mounting and portability.

question

In the specs, it says input formats are 720p, 1080i, and 1080p. I need a quad processor that can handle a 1080p input and three 1024x768 VGA inputs (OK to have HDMI adapters in play but must be able to get 1024x768 4:3 ration video in. Will this work?
Asked by: Jared B.
The MIO MVS-4HDMI will not accept or detect a 1024 x 768 signal. It will only work with the listed inputs.
