Key Features
  • Pentax K Mount
  • 31.5mm (35mm Equivalent)
  • Aperture Range: f/3.2 to f/22
  • Compact Pancake-Style Design
The black HD Pentax DA 21mm f/3.2 AL Limited Lens from Pentax is a compact pancake-style prime wide-angle lens providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 31.5mm. The broad 68° angle of view is well-suited to all-around shooting for both interior and exterior locations. A high-grade multi-layer HD coating has been applied to lens elements to help minimize flare and ghosting for enhanced contrast, clarity, and color fidelity and a seven-blade diaphragm contributes to an aesthetic out-of-focus quality to benefit shallow depth of field imagery. Additionally, an SP Protect coating has also been applied to the front lens element to effectively protect it from dirt, oil, and finger prints.

question

Would the DA 21mm be a good lens for my K-50? I need a wide angle lens, since I am starting to shoot some photos for my friends landscaping business.
Asked by: Don S.
HI Don, I've had this lens a couple years, on my K-7. I travel for work internationaly, and am an amatuer photog. I like landscapes and a wider field of view even in city streets. It's light, guite fast and compact and seems very durable, even in extreme polar regions. I'm very happy with my pics, but there is some distortion say in city skylines and some horizons, if you use the odd looking rectangular sunshade cover made for the lens seems to help with that alot. It is subject to sunflares from sides but I often just block with my hand. I'd say I'm quite happy with it, Its well made, and I take it everywhere, but again I'm not a pro. For photos of residential landscapes it should work well, but it's not inexpensive as you've probably seen, make sure you take it along to scenic places too if you buy it! Hope this was some help, dave
