The XIT Elite Series Locking LCD Viewfinder blocks light and features 3.4x magnification for 3" DSLR LCD screens. This viewfinder mounts to the camera using an elastic strap and a mounting plate that screws into the 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of a DSLR camera. It also has foam padding to protect the camera's LCD screen.

The Elite Series viewfinder is designed to work with left and right eye operation. Additionally, the two included mounting plates leave room for tripod plates to be used in conjunction with the viewfinder. It also comes packaged with a lanyard and carrying pouch.

    XIT XTLCDMVL reviews

Elite Series Locking LCD Viewfinder for 3" DSLR Screens is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing rocks Just got this today and I love it. Got it for my DSLR but as you can see from the pic it also works great for my mini HD camcorder. Using it on the mini is a God send. It was almost not useable outside in the any sunlight because the lcd was washed out. I have tried other hoods for the mini but this is the first thing that actually worked. The only thing I plan to change is to add a tab of some sort to the bungy strap to get a better handle on it when it needs to be removed. As of now I took the pigtail for the neck strap and attached it to the middle of the bungy to assist when removing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sunlight Solutuion for SLRs I bought this for my Nikon D7000 and it works nearly perfectly. The diopter allows me to use this without my glasses and still achieve excellent focus. The construction is durable and the view it provides is phenomenal. Say goodbye to sun glare on your LCD with this excellent viewfinder! Now for a few minor catches. The elastic strap occasional presses the flash button on my camera, popping it up and not allowing me to use the command dial for shutter speed. Fiddling with it until it stays out of the way resolves the problem. Another setback is that this does not include a mount that will work with a battery grip. Understandable, but still inconvenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad to see this produce After shooting in direct sunlight and doing some video, I was glad to see this product...and the price was right. I have two Nikons one with 3 and one with a 3.2 screen. Although the viewfinder blocks some of the screen on both cameras it is still a good product for occasional use. I like the fact that you can also mount it on the camera and it has mounting capabilities for use with a tripod. The eye cup was very easy to convert to right eye viewing on the one I received in the mail. I mention this because some of the reviews I read indicated that their viewfinder was difficult to change from left to right eye viewing...not sure why the viewfinder comes with left eye viewing eye cup. This product meets my needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great My changing eyesight was a real problem and I chose this cheaper item instead of the ore expensive Hoodman I was considering. I really like this product. It works well in the field AND the magnification is FABULOUS. I primarily have used it to check a photo I have taken but mostly I have used it when shooting via Live View. It has really helped me focus better in daylight when the LCD screen is hard to see. It is somewhat awkward to attach to the camera. I don't like leaving it on. I like to take it on & off & that can be a pain. I keep it in its neoprene pouch attached to my belt loop & that is OK during weddings when I am often wielding 2 cameras. I have used in on my my Nikons 5100, 300s & 300 & my 810 and it is fine on all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes shooting video with a DSLR possibl The unit attaches to the DSLR by two methods . An adjustable tripod base plate and an elastic strap the hooks over the penta prisim on top. It allows for perfect viewing of the LCD screen without any glare. You can actually see what is on the LCD screen even in the brightest daylight. You can check to ensure the focus has been established properly and follow what you are shooting with ease. It makes it similar to the old video cameras I used and liked twenty years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product for the money I use this product attached to a Sony dslr for both still photography and video of wildlife/nature subjects. The larger viewfinder image is quite helpful when using manual focus and it gets my face away from the camera in hot weather so I'm not coating the back of my camera with persperation. Construction is good and the mounting system is quite sturdy, better than other much higher priced viewfinders. My only complaint is with the clarity of the eyepiece lens but it is what I expected and once I learned to just trust the camera this does not seem to be much of a problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no infinity focus, no eyecup foldback Just received this, decent construction, and nice large ocular, but cannot achieve anywhere near an infinity focus, even with ocular screwed all the way out (1cm). When extended (any distance), ocular is loose and does not lock in place; essentially there is no practical adjustment. Apparent focus point seems to be 3 ft. Eyecup does not fold back for eyeglass wearers. 3.4x magnification doesn't seem correct, more like 1.4x to me. Not recommended for anyone over 40, who needs an infinity focus, nor for any eyeglass wearers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Perfect Fits a 3 inch screen great. Can not be adjusted up and down, so if you have a battery grip on it will not work. But other than that it works great. Easy to adjust plus has an easy way to put on and pull off the camera so it doesn't have to stay on at all times.
