PocketWizard PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter

The PocketWizard PTMM Pre-Trigger Adapter converts an ACC stereo miniphone cable to a mono miniphone pre-trigger cable. The pre-trigger switch allows you to wake or sleep the camera similarly to using the camera's shutter release.

Confusing at first

With so many different connections on camera bodies it makes sense to de-couple the actual trigger mechanism from the camera connection. Coming from the older trigger single cable with a screw-in 10 pin connector I didn't quite get the two cable set up. The packaging does a good job at explaining this though. What it didn't explain is that the Nikon USB connection is polarized, although it looks like it could go in either way. Again I was used to the older trapezoidal shaped connection in which the mating orientation is way more obvious. Once everything is mated it works just as I expected. With the trigger being so small you just have to learn which position is Normal vs Pre-Trigger. Still no problem.

Can I use this with the PocketWizard Plus II?

Yes. Note: The CM-N3-P is an older cable that has been replaced by the CM-N3-ACC combined with the PTMM to allow you to pre trigger your camera. The CM-N3-ACC is for Canon cameras with the N3 connection. The PTMM can connect to any -ACC PocketWizard cable to give a pre trigger function.
