The Obey 40 D-Fi 2.4 Lighting Controller from CHAUVET DJ provides a compact yet powerful control surface for up to twelve compatible light fixtures. This variation on the standard Obey 40 DMX Controller is additionally capable of communicating with CHAUVET DJ lights wirelessly thanks to their D-Fi ecosystem.
Total Wireless Control
The D-Fi-enabled Obey 40 simultaneously interfaces with up to 12 individual light fixtures, making it suitable for small venues and traveling artists. Up to 240 programmable scenes may be stored after precisely setting timing and appearance parameters for each light. Dedicated strobe and fog controls are included as well as MIDI compatible autorun and sound-activated functionality. Obey 40 features a single 3-pin XLR connection for delivering DMX signals to a fixture which may distribute that signal across an entire setup. While this is a valuable method for programming a light show, cable clutter piles up quickly. Wired DMX connections can be avoided completely thanks to the built-in D-FI 2.4 GHz transmitter. Many CHAUVET DJ light fixtures come with built-in D-Fi receivers or can be made compatible with a D-FI USB module (available separately).
The CHAUVET DJ Obey 40 is a midsize controller well-equipped for both permanent installations and on-the-go operations. It is easily used as either a 3 RU rackmounted unit or desktop control surface. When the controller is needed at the next stop on tour, it transports safely in a separately available CHS-30 VIP gear bag.
