    Varavon 815FH reviews

815 Video Head with Flat Base is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as described, using it to support about 2-3# equip Read many reviews, and felt convinced that for my purposes, this was ideal. I was only putting about 3# on it which is in specs. The counter weight works well, panning and tilting is smooth, good starts and stops, able to adjust resistance of pan; believe the build quality is excellent. I believe this head, for my purposes is such a great value, that i purchased 2, one for my tripod and one for my monopod. Considering the proprietary QR plate, it is easier for me and such great value, to leave the QR plate on my camera at all times, and the head as well, when switching between equipment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great! For the price. This fluid head is by far the best one out there for its price. I do have more expensive fluid heads that are just only a TAD bit better than this one. So I will say this if you are in the market for a fluid head I would stop searching and just buy this one. There's almost no flaws with this and anti those great thing is there is no friction control its just off or on which is what I think makes this so great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fluid head for DSLR, good price For a basic feature set, supporting a light rig, this is a pretty nice fluid head for the money. I find the vertical damping just right, but the rotational damping is a bit stiff for my taste maybe it will improve with some use. Overall very smooth action (except as noted below). One minor nit-pick is the handle: it is thoughtful that they made it telescoping, so it can be extended or retracted as desired. But the execution quality is off no matter how hard I try to tighten the slip clutch on the telescoping tube, it never gets tight enough to prevent side-to-side wobble of the handle. It becomes noticeable when I have panned one direction, then as I start to pan back, the handle goes 'klunk' and shifts, giving a brief pause to the pan. And the tubing diameter is an odd size so no other handle seems to fit. I may just throw out the telescoping section and wrap gaff-tape around the inner stem use that as the main handle. And finally why go with a proprietary plate clamp size? The size is SO close to Arca-Swiss, but it is not compatible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only $$for this quality??!? This head is the best among the price range upto $300 of the fluid head. Search on YouTube about this product and you'll find great reviews about it. I confirm that again, THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's everything my research said it would be! I received the 815 Video Head and a new Manfrotto tripod this morning and just in time to video an event. With only a 15 or 20 minute test run...I was off to the event with my Canon XA30 mounted onto my new Varavon 815 Head..on my new 190go. This Fluid Head fits perfectly on the 190go! This Fluid Head is as smooth as butter and very simple to operate. It's so simple to operate that I wasn't too upset that there wasn't an operators manual in the box. At first I was a little miffed that there was no manual or anything included. I guess you don't need one. This was an outdoor event on uneven terrain...filming a very active car cruise event. I filmed a parade of over 150 vintage cars and this Fluid Head and 190go Tripod's performance surpassed my greatest expectations. This combination will..I'm convinced..make be a better Videographer . My only real disappointment had nothing to do with the equipment. I was on edge because B & H chat folks couldn't confirm that the Varavon 815 Flat Fluid Head would be a good match for the 190go. I was disappointed that the B & H folks couldn't assure me up front. I'm glad I did my own research..felt convinced the research was sound. I took a chance and will attest to the fact that this head is a perfect match for the 190go. Please pass this info to the chat personnel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Video Head - Wish I had ordered it sooner! Just received it and used it already. Works great! No more shaky videos. Thought at first it was too stiff, but it moves very smoothly. My wife trains miniature horses (ones that we own - she is not a professional trainer) and I video her as a training aid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fluid Head for the money!!! I have a Sachtler 60 Plus tripod head which is too much for my Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. But I needed a comparable tripod. The 815 from Varavon fit that requirement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best less expensive video head IMHO Love it. Especially love the dampening knob. I can set it and now my head won't slowly droop, yet it is not locked in place... I can still reposition.
