Rated 5 out of 5 by from OMG! Brilliant!! OK, so I use the GlideCam HD4000 A LOT! I used it almost exclusively on my last production shoot. The so-called 'quick release' function on the GC is not really that quick, especially when the light is fading. I had tried several quick release plate adapters, like the Manfrotto 577 QR Plate Kit, but once attached, it was nearly impossible to turn the release knob due to proximity of the GC top plate to which it was attached. I resigned myself to just having to take the top plate off the GC, and use a quarter to remove the 1/4-20 holding my camera to it each time I wanted to go handheld. THEN, someone at Zacuto showed their genius! This little lightweight tripod dock is the PERFECT solution for marrying Zacuto Finder products to the Glidecam HD. I just bolted this thing on (once, PERMANENTLY), and with a gorilla plate already on my DSLR, it requires only a simple twist of the red knob on the gorilla plate to either lock my camera in place, or remove it for a quick hand-held shot. And for those wondering if the camera might slip off that shiny little black post: I carried my GC with camera attached over my shoulder for three days of shooting, and even did a couple of running follow shots with the GC upside down (camera hanging from this thing), and it stuck like glue. Yeah, the person who thought of this... I'd like to shake their hand. THIS is a no-brainer. Get one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Functions adequately, but clunky to use I enjoy the satisfying click of locking in my devices to their docks. This plate requires an awkward twist (especially with the V1 mount) and gives me very little confidence that my expensive equipment is safe. Having a Z-finder with a Gorilla Plate, I guess I have little other choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great plate I have settled on this as a good solution to many issues. I use Zacuto products because generally they just work well consistently. Yes they are a little higher priced, but they I believe still have a lifetime warranty. I have only had to use it once, but they provided great service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome1 These plates are awesome. They're really solid and easy to use. I have 4 of them, one on my rail/follow focus rig, one on my jib/crane, one on my slider and one on my shoulder rig. I can change between rigs in seconds. A HUGE time saver for setups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to have a few on location I love Zacuto stuff and use their optical finders when shooting video on DSLR. These let me quickly move camera from tripod to rails and to steadicam in seconds. No holding up busy clients while I get sorted with new grip needs. Simple and secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A handy little tool Great for getting a DSLR between rigs quickly and securely without adding much weight (I use it between a Zacuto rig set up w/ Matte Box, Follow Focus, Etc in a Studio configuration and a small Zacuto half-cage set up as a hand-held rig).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellence from Zacuto Hard to write a thorough review on a tripod dock, but as always, Zacuto delivers a fine product. The quick release system they've developed is excellent and I love their products. This little adapter is no different and works flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ingenious This is my second one of these. If you use a Zacuto Finder, then you need several of these to make it ridiculously easy and convenient to move from Steadicam, to tripod, to handheld with the twist of a knob.
