Cmple 1183 Overview

The Cmple Premium IR Remote Extender/Repeater Kit is a wired system for relaying IR remote signals to overcome the normal line-of-sight limitation of infrared. It features a Connecting Block with one IR receiver input and six IR emitter outputs. With this system is is possible to control up to 18 devices in your home theater or A/V setup, allowing you to keep your components hidden from view or even operate them from another room.

A dual-band IR receiver or eye plugs into to 3.5mm mini jack connector on the input side of the Connecting Block. The IR receiver features adhesive allowing it to mount to most surfaces and has a 10' cable. In addition, it features LEDs that provide feedback so you can be sure it is successfully picking up your remote.

On the output side of the Connecting Block are six 3.5mm mini jack connectors for the IR emitters. The IR emitters are double-headed, and two are included in the kit. As with the IR receiver, the emitters have adhesive allowing them to attach to a variety of surfaces, and feature 10' cables. Each of the emitter heads can be mounted directly over of the IR receiver of the devices you want to control, or they can be arranged to create a "flood" pattern allowing you to control multiple devices stored in one area.

The Connecting Block also features an Ethernet (CAT5 or higher) input on a terminal block connector for applications where the IR receiver needs to be further than 10' away. To use Ethernet extension, a transmitter balun, sold separately, will also be required that the IR receiver will then plug in to.

For cable-boxes, audio receivers, Blu-ray players, VCRs, DVRs, satellite receivers, media players, VOD streaming boxes, and more
Add additional emitters to increase coverage area and control up to 18 devices
Connecting Block features screws for in-wall and other fixed installations

It works. I replaced my sound bar with some real speakers and needed a way to control an external amplifier, DVD player, ect. that are hidden in a cabinet with an IR sensor / remote control. This did the trick.

Stopped working

Was good for about 2 weeks then it pretty much became a paper weight.

question

How long are the cords that come with it?
Asked by: John H.
The power supply cable looks to be around 6'Both the emitter and receiver cables seem to be about 10' long. I can't be exact because the equipment is installed, but I am very close. Has worked flawlessly too.
