With HDPC compliance and EDID management, the VP-770 will accept video in most HDTV and resolutions and frame rates as well as NTSC and PAL standard definition analogue video. Devices that can be connected to the a switcher/scaler include computers, DVD and Blu-ray players, document cameras, media players, camcorders, video production switchers, or even legacy analogue devices such as VCRs. The HDMI and VGA outputs can be used to drive display devices including multimedia projectors, TVs, commercial displays, and computer monitors.

EDID Management
The EDID (Extended Device ID) data for a selected master input can mapped to one of the outputs to help ensure proper "handshake"
HDCP Compliant
HDMI sources with HDCP (High Definition Content Protection) encryption will only pass to the HDMI output on the VP-770
Fade-Thru-Black (FTB) Switching
When switching, the image fades to black giving the new source a chance to establish sync, the new image then fades in for a seamless transition
Multiple Simultaneous Video Outputs
Both VGA ports, the HDMI port, and the DGKat HDMI balun port are active simultaneously, allowing you to connect up to four display devices without using a distribution amplifier or splitter
Dual Window Display
Presets for picture-in-picture (PIP), picture-and-picture, and split screen presentation modes, as well as customized window layouts. Both the main and PIP window can be magnified up to 1600%
Luma Keying via PIP Window
Allows you key out a portion of the main image based on luminance value allowing you to insert backgrounds and overlays
ProcAmp and Image Filters
  • ProcAmp allows you to individually adjust color, sharpness, contrast, brightness, and gamma for each input
  • Time-base corrector (TBC) helps stabilize jittery, unstable video sources
  • Noise reduction with temporal, block, mosquito, and comb filtering
  • 3D comb filter provides improved color separation for composite video inputs
IR, Ethernet, and RS-232 Controls
You can control the VP-770 directly using the on-screen display (OSD) accessed via buttons on the front panel, from a computer using the RS-232 serial interface, or over a network using IP protocol
Audio Delay
Manually adjustable audio delay allows you to bring audio and video into sync
Multiple Aspect Ratio Selections
Select from follow input, follow output, best fit, letterbox, and overscan
De-interlacing
Supports 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down and features 24sf handling
Other Notable Features
1RU, rackmountable design
Non-volatile memory retains user setting even after disconnecting power
Vertical keystoning
Selectable power saving modes
Firmware updates via RS-232

Kramer VP-770 Reviews

TBC Analog to Digital Transfer

I received this as a wonderful Christmas gift from my mother, the Kramer VP-770. I am using it to digitize a number of VHS/Beta/Hi-8/and DVD performances from my Alma Mater, as well as from other clients. It has performed superbly. The ability to Time Base Code the squiggly analog tapes and output a clean 720P or 1080P signal, plus being able to align the audio signal, has been a blessing. In the world of digital there are a number of analog items that may be lost. I am grateful that Kramer makes a truly spectacular TBC Switcher/Upscaler to complete the restoration.
