    Linksys SE3005 reviews

SE3005 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast for sharing media on LAN I got this to speed up my internal network at home. I have 1 smart tv, 2 computers, and a STEAM link connected to it. Before I had all of these devices running on WIFI and they were very slow. One of the computers I have connected is my media machine where I share out videos/movies to my network. Since installing it, I have not had any buffering issues at all. I'm also able to share out my STEAM games via my link connected to my smart TV. Before I had a lot of FPS issues, but now all of those issues are now resolved. As far as setting it up, it was plug and go. There was no other setup needed. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Plug & Play set up This switch was very easy to set up and only took minutes to do so. It came in handy as I play Xbox and my console is far away from my router a (Linksys WRT 1900 ACS) 100ft straight line. So I ran a 75' Cat 6 cable to my room a half way point, then I put this Switch SE 3005 in there to also power a PC tower. Finally from the Switch I ran a 50' Cat 6 cable to my Xbox. Now my Xbox has speed to keep up while online and not have drop outs as I would get with weak wi-fi. Just want to note that the WRT 1900acs wireless N power dose reach the room with my Xbox it's just not enough for online play, with my house being old with thick walls. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Linksys SE3005 Ethernet Switch I received a free Linksys SE3005 Ethernet Switch for evaluation. I happened to be out of Ethernet ports on my Linksys router and this gave me an opportunity to move some of the devices to the Ethernet switch. I had no issues with setting it up and no issues with its operation. Set up was just the power cord. Moved some of the devices from the router to the switch and add a cable (I had to provide) from one of the now open ports on the router to the switch ......done. It was that easy. I now have several open Ethernet ports for future expansion. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slim Design and Easy to use This is a very great switch and easy to use. This switch has a metal housing which keeps it cool and is a much better than other switches with plastic cases. It is also has a nice slim design for easy placement wherever you need. It has Five Gigabit Ethernet ports for very fast speeds and easy to read lights to let you know which ports are active. This switch is very simple to use, just plug and play. Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Does its Job Well I was able to easily add Desktop and laptop computers, and printers to my home network. I just simply plug-in a ethernet cable to instantly connect these devices. There were no problems at all, even with all of the devices connected at the same time. I have a 110/12 connection coming in through a Motorola Surfboard SB6141. I have had no problem getting that speed on any of the ports. This unit is well constructed and has work flawlessly so far. It does its job well. I received a free sample from Linksys in exchange for your honest feedback [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice sturdy feeling switch This switch looks great, is weighted, so that it stays where you set it. It just so happens that I was out of ports on my router. One port on my router to this switch and now I have 4 more ports. I connected the power, ran a Ethernet cable from my router to the switch, then started connecting Ethernet ports on the switch. WOW, no setup at all, just plug it in and connect the Ethernet cables, so simple to set up, anybody could set it up in minutes. It has a very sturdy metal case. I have had it for a few weeks and it works great. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I demand the best Firstly, I need to throw this disclaimer out there: I received this product as a free sample for my honest feedback. So honestly I never knew what the difference between a router and switch were - you could look up a great video by Cisco on YouTube for more on that, but essentially a WiFi router is a glorious hybrid of different ways for computers to talk to each-other. If you know what you want in terms of a private network this is creme DE la creme of personal/small business switches. My reasoning for four stars though is the abundance of competition who cut on performance but offer a lower bottom line. That all being said, you could probably roll a monster truck over this thing and it'll be fine; it has a real nice strong, durable body. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Small Footprint Switch An excellent 5 port switch with strong feature set. First off I like the retro Blue on Black look that matches up with our main WRT 1900acs router and Linksys SE4008 WRT 8-Port. Like that the switch uses IEEE 802.3az technology that allows for less power consumption during periods of low data activity. The switch has a good hefty feel to it due to metal construction, this I am sure will help manage heat. And what I find Great about the Solid Feel is it does not move around on the desktop like lighter switches. Easy to setup? Yes it is a switch, plug in your Network connection and wired deices and you are good to go. Nice touches are the included mounting hardware if you want to mount to a wall or mount behind a desk. Also comes with peel and stick rubber feet pads for use on the desk. The foot pads could use some attention as two of ours lost their adhesive when we peeled them off. Easy fix with a touch of superglue. We replaced an older E4200 router on my son's desk with the switch, much easier to use, no setup far more efficient networking, uses far less space and looks cooler. Have an older small 5 port Linksys switch which we use with the home entertainment system, have been using it for years with no issues, but I far prefer the new edition. Highly Recommended.
