This drive comes formatted HFS+ Journaled for Mac, making it fully compatible with Apple Time Machine and systems running Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later, and can easily be reformatted to work on Windows operating systems. Once configured, you can begin transferring data at speeds up to 5 Gb/s when using the USB 3.0 port, which is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s. You can also protect your stored data with password protection and hardware based encryption ensuring your data remains safe and secure.
