  • DIGIC 5+ Image Processor

  • Full HD 1080p Video Recording at 30 fps
The Canon EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera is a full-frame 22.3MP DSLR featuring exceptional still image and movie recording capabilities. Integrating Canon's new DIGIC 5+ Image Processor and 14-bit A/D conversion, this camera is able to produce superbly detailed imagery with immense low-light sensitivity that is further aided by an extended ISO range up to 102400. Image quality is further enhanced by the new 61-point high density reticular autofocus, including up to 41 cross-type AF points and 5 dual diagonal AF points for ensured sharpness. iFCL metering works in conjunction with the AF system and uses color information from scenes to produce accurate exposure readings using a 63 zone dual-layer metering sensor. HDR and Multiple Exposure modes provide greater creative opportunities and help you to reduce the amount of post-production time needed to produce high quality imagery. The 5D Mark III is also capable of recording full HD video with manual exposure control and in multiple frame rates, including 1080/30p and 720/60p. Still images can also be recorded up to 6fps.

question

what is the camera good for? portrait, action, or landscapes
Asked by: a b.
I have literally taken thousands of photos since I got the camera. All with the 24-105 F4L lens! I did a lot of candid shots on a trip to Wash. D.C. of family and sites visited. I made panoramic shots at the WW II Memorial and the reflection pool. I got great shots inside the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. On the way home, I did photos of scenic farmland, cows, silos, great old farm house, etc., hand-held from the passenger side seat while travelling at 75 mph! 90+ % were sharp because it was overcast/light occasional ran, and I could crank up the ISO with very low noise! I have gone with friends to two different Indian Mounds (parks), old water mill, and other places. I have used a tripod and monopod successfully. It has amazed and delighted me so far. I like the full-size sensor, resolution, and color accuracy under various lighting conditions. Very adaptable on-the-go!

question

if i were using a tamron 150-600 v2 lens with this camera and videoing surfers from land, how would i keep the surfer in focus? will it track the surfer automatically? will i have to half press down the shutter button every few seconds to readjust the focus or just do it manually?
Asked by: max r.
I havent used my camera for taking video, although I have used to click pics of birds, and for bird in flight photography, I would have to keep tracking the bird while clicking pics. There is an option to configure one of the back buttons for focusing. Google for back button focusing, and there are videos to teach how to setup back button focusing, with this you can press and hold the back button for focusing. Hope this helps .
