I am expecting to mostly have to hold my reflector in one hand while shooting with the other, and am trying to choose between this reflector and the manfrotto trigrip - can the profoto reflectors be managed with one hand as easily?
As the Profoto Collapsible Reflector - Silver/White - 33" has handles on the two (2) corners of the reflector, though it would be easier to hold the reflector with two hands, it is possible to hold the reflector with one hand and hold your camera with the other hand.

Is it normal that a new profoto collapsible large reflector looks scratched on the silver side?
The Profoto Collapsible Reflector - Sunsilver/White - 47" as any reflector may have some lines from being folded up, also could be scratched by itself when folded during transport. it all depend on the level of how the scratch looks like.

Does the gold on the gold reflector flake old as i've seen on other brand; and, is it a strong color of gold such as to give photos a gold color cast rather than warm golden hour presence?
The Profoto reflectors are very well built. Depending on how you store them they might at some point fail with age and use. The color is a warm and pleasing tone.

how to fold reflector?
Easiest way is to grab diagonally across a corner in the middle of the straight sections, with the handles next to and across from you. I drop it down and as I pull it up I Twist your 2 hands toward each other folding both edges down as they come together and it should fold into thirds. once you do it a couple times you won't evan think about it as you do it.
