Although there were issues with the unit, the APC rep clearly explained to me how this happened, and I understand. Nobody's fault, but I'm glad APC had this covered.

Great time extender when power fails

Works with the APC Smart-UPS X 1000VA Rack/Tower LCD 120V that I recently bought becuase my Dell Studio with Windows 7 would crash whenever there was a power flicker - my BackUPS RS 1300 sine wave approximation was not good enough to run my machine - I needed a pure Sine wave - this extra battery gives me enough time to finish what I'm doing and shut down in an orderly fashion when the power fails as it does often here in the north Woods.
