The Sony PMW-F5 Documentary Kit with LCD VF combines the F5 with a 960 x 540 LCD viewfinder, FZ to EF and FZ to B4 lens adapters, V-mount Olivine battery, dual battery charging station, stereo/mono shotgun mic, shock mount for 18-55mm diameter mics, closed back studio headphones, 32GB SxS-1 card, USB 3.0 SxS card reader/writer, shoulder mount accessory for the camera, and a hard carrying case. The FZ to EF adapter is from Optitek, and all the other items are from Sony.
The F5 features an 8.9 MP Super 35mm CMOS image sensor and provides 14 stops of dynamic range. It has SDI and HDMI connections and removable XLR audio and timecode/genlock modules. It has a native FZ mount and comes with a PL-mount adapter. Per download of firmware update 2.0, which is already available, the F5 can record 2K, 4:2:2 at up to 59.94 fps internally in the Sony XAVC codec; 2K RAW at 120p, 180p, and 240p to an optional Sony AXS-R5 external recorder; 1080p, 4:2:2 at up to 120 fps internally in XAVC; and 4K RAW/24p externally to an AXS-R5 recorder.
Firmware update 3.0, expected shortly, will enable 4K RAW 1p to 60p external recording; 2K RAW 1p to 240p externally; 1080p 1 to 180 fps XAVC internally; and MPEG2 4:2:2, 720/59.94p/50p.
