  • 1Description

The Gary Fong Speed Snoot features a black finish and includes the PowerGrid for limiting the spread of light from your on-camera shoe-mounted flash. The snoot blocks light spill and the grid directs the light onto your subject. Other features include a collapsible design for easy storage and a strap with hook-and-loop fasteners for quickly attaching and removing the snoot from your flash unit.

    Gary Fong SSNOOT reviews

Speed Snoot is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works As Described! Great Product! I love Gary Fong products! This product really helped me spotlight my subjects without the need to buy expensive and bulky lighting equipment and umbrellas. I use it with my off camera flash, wireless triggers, and my cheap light-stand that someone gave me. I'm just an amateur and everyone has been impressed with the quality of results that I have gained by using this product. I've attached a few photos to this review to show what I have been able to do so far. I currently only have 1 strobe, but I like the dark dramatic look it gives my subjects. It really helps me separate my subject from the background. The grid it comes with also works with my reguar lightsphere collapsable. I still have more exploring and experimenting to do with this, but I'm really excited and happy with what I've done so far. B&H is also the best! They shipped it to me quickly and had it in 2 days. I also find that Gary Fong's website was extremely helpful; Lots of inpriational videos and turorials on how to use his products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it should! I've only had this for a few weeks now, and I'm very happy with it so far. The collapsible design is convenient, though popping the grid itself into the rubber housing is a bit cumbersome. For its portability, being slightly cumbersome is worth it; and if you need to set up quickly on your shoots, you can always leave it attached to your flash when you pack it up.It doesn't seem cheap or flimsy, and it hasn't fallen off my speedlight once. It's the only grid/snoot I have, but I'm quite happy with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite what it's cracked up to be... Since I already have the Gary Fong white sphere I was hoping this would also be as good. Well, just like some others have reported, it does transfer the honeycomb grid-like appearance in your shots, even at 1/1250sec TT HSS. It's not bad and it's certainly not cause to send it back, it's just something that you have to deal with. In relative terms it's a poor man's Profoto studio light, so I can live with it until I can swing the big bucks.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome little snoot This is an awesome little snoot. It collapses to take up little space when storing in a camery bag. It has little tabs on the inside that hold Gary Fong color gels in place. The build quality overall is pretty good and the grid that comes with it works like a charm. The snoot attaches to speedlites via a Velcro strap and rubber fins which enable me to get a snug fit on my 430ex III even at extreme angles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must have add on to your speed flash If you want a low cost effective way to control the speed of light from your flash, this is it. Not only does it effectively funnel the light to your subject, but it also collapses to take up the minimum amount of room in your case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works It is what is, nice accessory for speed light but way overpriced for a piece of plastic but does provide direction for lighting

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't wait just buy! I started to move to high speed sync and needed to move away from my soft boxes. I purchased two of these and was hooked. I now have 4. I use them with the grids and without. In addition I purchased the color domes and use them a lot more than I ever thought I would. Suggest not picking them up by the snoot they did come apart. It may have been my fault but just be safe. They are a must for fill flash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portability Easy to use and flexible. Use with my SB700's with grid attached the light is fairly narrow and without the grid it's great for portraits. I can use colors or diffusion and I like that I can control the level of spill with this. For on location portraits I find the directionality and control essential Excellent!
