The Blade 180 QX HD Quadcopter is a quad-rotor RC helicopter that does not include a transmitter. It is designed to be controlled using your own 4+ channel DSM2 or DSMX Bind-n-Fly (BNF) transmitter. Assembly is required, and is estimated to take an experience model builder approximately an hour. It features a 720p video and 1.3MP still photo camera that mounts to the belly of the quadcopter using hook and loop fasteners.
The 180 QX HD incorporates SAFE, an assisted flying technology designed to help you avoid accidentally executing maneuvers that might send the aircraft into a crash. In addition, three flight modes are available, allowing you to select the level of maneuverability appropriate to your flying experience.
As with any RC aircraft, proper calibration setup and pre-flight protocols must be followed to ensure correct operation of the assisted flying system.
- Stability Low Angle Mode: The easiest to pilot, in this mode bank angle is restricted to a minimum
- Stability High Angle Mode: Allows the pilot to achieve the aircraft's maximum bank angle
- Agility Mode: An expert mode that gives the pilot the greatest maneuverability. It negates the benefits of the highly automated stability modes, relying instead on the ASX3 3-axis stability system. Although some stabilization assistance is still present, the margin for error is much therefore this mode should only be used by experienced pilots
