LCDVFBM LCD Viewfinder for Blackmagic Pocket Camera is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from High Value or Ripoff? I bought an equivalent Camera Loupe for my D-300 for 30.00; Good name brand, A Vivitar. I see no real difference in quality despite claims of superior optics etc by Kinoptik. Certainly not a 120.00 difference. In fact the simple inclusion of a focussing eyepiece on the Vivitar makes the expensive diopter lens set for the Kinoptik unnecessary. In this the Vivitar is superior to the Kinoptik even at the lower price. I did not appreciate the nasty suprise of 45.00 more for this lens set. There are few loupes out so far for the Blackmagic Pocket Cine Camera so I was forced to buy the Kinoptik. It was not a good value in my opinion although it does it's job. In my opinion the special diopter lens set is an out & out ripoff. Wait for more competition if you can.I would not recomend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, non-electric, easy to use This is an excellent accessory for the BMPCC. Not only is it lightweight and requires no electrical connections, it provides three-point support for handheld shots. The connection via a magnetic strip is genius. With the attached lanyard, it is easy to remove it and use the BMPCC viewfinder for some shots, then put it back on for critical work. I wear glasses and could use the viewfinder easily, though the image was a hair soft. Without my glasses, the screen was sharp. I have ordered the diopters to use with my glasses, though they are not absolutely necessary.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid Indispensible piece of kit for shooting outdoors This is the type of kit that makes it possible to use th BMPCC outdoors. Comes with a nice chamois eyepiece. The frame that sticks to the back of the camera is a K.I.S.S. solution to mount the eyepiece magnetically. Follow the directions and practice a few times before you actually commit to the stickum'. If you screw up, they give you a second frame to make it right. I am giving it only 3 stars because at this price I would expect a focusable diopter eyepiece. It's a tad blurry for me and it would be nice to be able to focus the eyepiece for a sharp view of the camera's screen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really helps. Pretty easy to apply the pre-glued magnetic frame. Practice first as the directions say. The viewfinder feels solid when it is attached. This device really helps when focusing in sunlit situations given that the bmpcc LCD is USELESS in the sun. I had also devised my own hood for mere pennies before this gadget was released. And it worked well. However, there is nothing like using a viewfinder for complete assurance that you have gotten the best focus. And since there is not one to be found on the bmpcc, this is a no-brainer. I am very happy they released this thing and was surprised that it was not priced as to take advantage of the bmpcc owners who are desperate for this solution. Thank you Kinotehnik! One small thing.... The bag it comes with is too small to effectively fit the viewfinder. Oh well. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A product that works Very pleased with this viewfinder, I am using it with a number one diopter and magnification and focus are just right with my Black Magic Pocket Cinema. It is important to me that it is lightweight and easily detachable though before buying it I had my doubts about magnets and yes you could knock it off the back of the camera if you were on an intense shoot but it works well. I have no issues with quality of construction either. All in all a satisfying product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best used outdoors I bought this viewfinder after reading reviews online. It was this one or the Zacuto which is slightly dearer. In the end I decided on the Kinotehnik. The main reason for buying this was to assist focusing while using the camera outdoors in daylight. Without a loupe of some sort, the screen is very washed out and hard to see clearly. I'm sure that's something Blackmagic will improve on as they seem very progressive. The viewfinder comes with a magnetic mount that sticks to the camera body. You simply peel off the protective tape and allign it around the 3.5 inch screen, simple. Then the viewfinder magnetizes on and off. It's a great system, easy to use. The instructions say not to leave it on permanently. Presumably that would weaken the magnets or something. Luckily the loupe comes with a nice protective pouch with a draw string to keep it safe. It also comes with an eye cushion for added comfort. This needs to be attached. I found that process a little bit fiddly, but once I persisted it went on eventually. It really gives the viewfinder a nice professional feel. So, any downsides? Well, the screen on the camera is poor. Under magnification when using the loupe it shows its limitations more. I've noticed that when peaking is switched on, on the camera the lines looking through the loupe seem a little hazey. Nothing too bad, but not as sharp as you'd get on a DSLR. Obviously the viewfinder is fixed and doesn't tilt. This isn't a big deal unless you're trying to use it high or low angle, then you're craning your neck a bit. Saying that, at least you get a great view of what's in the frame. Using the camera in sunshine without the loupe is basically a lost cause, so it's an essential tool. Overall I'd give this 4 stars. The velvet pouch could be slightly bigger. The viewfinder fits inside but it's very snug, especially with the eye cushion attached. Also, if you don't have good eyesight you might need to buy the optional diopter pack for extra $$. B&H couldn't show me a demo of the viewfinder either, only because Kinotehnik weren't supplying them with an open box demo model. Anyway, for what it is, it works really well. I would definitely recommend the product, although it should be under $ in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This should come with the camera. We recently purchased a Canon C100 and found it impossible to shoot outside without draping a jacket or black clothe over one's head. We had also bought an eyecup for the viewfinder which turned out to be worthless.I had been using a Kinotechnik Viewfinder on my Canon 5D MkII with great success, so I contacted the company and asked if they had a product that would fit the C100. They told me that the LCDVFBM (designed for the Black Magic camera) would work. So I ordered one and it has made working with C100 in or outside so much easier! The construction is quite robust, the eyecup itself has a very nice cushion that eliminates ambient light. The magnetic frame that attaches to the LCD seats securely and doesn't peel off when removing the viewfinder. Kinotechnik did caution that the LCD screen wouldn't close flush to the camera with the mounting ring attached and that's the case, but it poses no impediment to functionality. In my opinion this in an indispensable accessory for the Canon C100, its well priced and designed for simple efficient operation.I highly recommend it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from its ok got a redrock micro cage for my bmpcc and wanted to use this with it. Unfortunately it doesn't really align properly with opening in the redrock cage.
