This kit from B&H combines the Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod with the MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head and 200PL Quick Release System. The tripod extends to 67.5", folds to 27.7", and weighs 5.5 lb, and supports up to 15.4 pounds.

Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock system allows you to completely extend the three-section legs with just one hand. The rapid center column can be used in standard vertical mode or it can be swung into horizontal position like a boom. With the column in the 90° position, and the legs at their widest angle, the tripod can place your camera only 8.3" above the ground. This is perfect for macro work or low angle shots. An Easy Link plug is built into the tripod's spider for adding any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors. A rotating bubble level is included just below the head so you can view it regardless of the tripod's position.

The MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head is strong enough for most applications and ideally suited for this equally sturdy tripod. The XPRO lets you fine-tune your adjustments, thanks to separate knobs for both the ball and the 360° panning as well as a friction control knob for more exacting placement. The 200PL quick release clamp and plate allow for quick camera attachment and removal, and two bubble levels let you adjust your camera so the horizon is level. A numbered scale around the base of the head makes repeating exact pans an easy task.

Manfrotto MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod

The black, redesigned MT190XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod from Manfrotto builds on the success and popularity of the previous 190 series with professional hardware and convenience features that make it even easier to use than its predecessor.

Set up is faster than ever with Manfrotto's Quick Power Lock System that allows you to completely extend the tripod legs with just one hand. Once set up you can use the MT190XPRO3's rapid center column in standard vertical mode or swing it into horizontal position like a boom with Manfrotto's 90° Column feature. Enlarged tabs on the individual leg angle selectors allow you to get down to only 3.5" for macro work with the column in horizontal mode. And once you're down there you can attach any of Manfrotto's flexible or articulated arms to hold lights or reflectors via the Easy Link plug built into the tripod's spider.

Convenience features include grippy, rubber leg warmers on two legs for cold or inclement weather and a bubble level that rotates so that you can see it easily regardless of the tripod's position. Finally, Manfrotto's insistence on form following function has yielded a tripod that you'll not only be happy to use but you'll be happy to be seen with, too.

Fast Setup with QPL
The Quick Power Lock (QPL) system is one of the most eye-catching and unique features of the redesigned 190. It is a strong, ultra fast, ergonomic locking system that allows for complete extension of the legs with one hand.
90° Column
One of the most innovative aspects of the 190 series is its compactness, which allows for easier portability. The redesigned patented 90° Column is accessible whenever you need it with simple one finger operation.
Easy Link Plug
The plug allows instant connection between tripod and accessories, such as LED lights for macro photography and DSLR video applications using Manfrotto articulated arms and brackets.
Rotating Leveling Bubble
The bubble is easy to read, whatever the shape of the head or however the tripod is positioned. Just rotate it towards you for easy viewing.
Leg Angle Selectors
Each leg has user selection of four angles to accommodate uneven ground or rough terrain. The selectors are manufactured according to most innovative ergonomic standards to prevent fingers and nails being trapped in the upper casting.
Manfrotto's Eye to Style and Design Detail
The entire shape of the tripod has been modified and made more manageable and stylish. The complete redesign of its functional elements shows a particular attention to aesthetics and details: the brand name, for example, appears in many sections of the new 190, including the two legwarmers made of comfortable rubber to provide a secure grip and prevent the conduction of heat and cold in extreme weather conditions.

Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate

This XPRO Magnesium Ball Head from Manfrotto features an integrated RC2 quick release cam lock and a 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate. RC2 compatible quick release plates such as the 200PL-14 can be removed from the head by pulling the cam lock's spring-loaded lever, which also allows the plate to be instantly reattached. The XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate has a load capacity of 33.1 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. Toward the ball head's base is a secondary locking knob that controls the ability to rotate the head 360°. An additional knob opposite the secondary locking knob can be rotated to apply tension control to the ball-and-socket joint's movements.

Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the 200PL-14 quick release plate which measures 1.7 x 2.1 x 0.4" and has a rubberized, non-slip surface.

Aluminum Tripod Kit with Ball Head & 200PL Quick Release System Reviews

Fantastic Lightweight Tripod

I needed a light weight and portable tripod as the non changeable head on the one I've been using for 30 plus years was beginning to deteriorate. My only other tripod was a Manfrotto 3036 and just too bulky to grab and go on a regular basis and no doubt about it, the MT190XPRO3 fit the need. I added a Manfrotto ball head and it is small, portable and easy to throw into a vehicle and go.

Easy to use and sturdy.

The tripod is easy to deploy and adjust. It comfortably supports a gimbal mount holding a Sony A7R5 on a Sony 200 - 600mm zoom. The legs are three section, not four, so even fully collapsed it’s on the large side when carried in a backpack, though the tripod itself is not too heavy. Definitely worth the price.

question

Could you attach a Edelkrone slider to this while shooting a 90degree shot? Or a slider of similar proportions/weight?
Asked by: Andrew
With the right ball head, you can attach any mid-size slider to this tripod and shoot vertically. The tripod can handle over 15 pounds of weight. However, it's always recommended to add some weight to the tripod so that it doesn't tip over, and unfortunately this tripod does not have a hook under the middle column to connect a sandbag or camera bag. But if you can be creative and figure out a way to add more weight to the tripod, that would be the best way to go about it.
