HD PVR Rocket Portable HD Game Recorder is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it! I use this for recording video game consoles and external video from a PC/Mac and absolutely love it. I like it better than having to deal with a video capture card on a PC since this is small and easy to transport. There are a couple small things that I would like changed, but the good outweighs the 'bad'. It only has a 3.5mm phono audio jack for a microphone input for doing commentary/voice over; while it works fine, I would much rather be able to use a USB mic like a Blue Snowball. Lastly, you have to use RCA (component video) with PS3 instead of HMDI due to some kind of 'copy protection' issue; which is slightly annoying. Other than that, it is great and records 1080p @ 30fps with no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Records from HDMI or Component video - easy to set-up and use. Picture looks pretty good with an H-264 codec. Mp4 file edits with Edius 7 - great workflow.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nothing better for the price Easy to use in Stand Alone mode. Be a great product if: - It had a Composite Video input - Worked with USB drives greater than 32GB

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returning. Firmware corrupts itself constantly. I do a good bit of low-budget live broadcast production and need an external recording solution to ease the burden on my control workstation. I opted to try this, only to be burdened with the extra cost of a separate monitor and the frustration of finding the unit unresponsive constantly. As far as I can tell, connecting the device to its desktop control interface and then changing *any* of the device's settings causes the firmware to fail upon any subsequent usage (with or without the desktop software). Reinstalling the firmware (more specifically, jumping from stable to beta firware or vice versa) "solved" the issue, but it recurs constantly, which is simply unacceptable in a live-on-location scenario. Save up a little bit more and go for a combination recorder/monitor from a *RELIABLE* brand. Personally, I'm looking at the Blackmagic Design Video Assist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended for people who want portable recroder! So, I bought this thing with my Xbox one S! and it is so far amazingly awesome? 1 thing I found out though is that it heats up really quick.. Leave it on for few minutes not even recording, it will heat up, so maybe that can become an issue in the future, maybe not. So far loving it. Just gotta let it rest every 1-2 hour recording.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality and reliability I have tried other similar portable game recorders in this price range and found them to be finicky and unreliable. This one works like it's supposed to and just keeps on working. The only thing that keeps it from getting 5 stars is the lack of an SD card input.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from this thing sucks I used a 2.0 and 3.0 16 gig jump drive, followed all the directions and every time I hit record it would reboot and no video signal. this was used with wii u. currently pending response on if I can get this returned or refunded.
