ZTS MBT-1 Overview

The MBT-1 Multi Battery Tester from ZTS provides you with a quick and efficient way to test over 40 types of batteries including NiMH, Li-Ion, alkaline, lithium, coin cell, button type and more. Without having to throw switches or push buttons, you simply place your battery on the appropriate space on the tester.  Then, by touching the battery with the included probe, the machine's microprocessor shows you the percentage of remaining capacity on the LED display bar.

The battery contacts are labeled so you always know where to place your battery.  When not in use, the tester's probe stores in the side seam of the tester. The unit is surrounded by a rubber sleeve that is easy to grip and also protects it from incidental contact. The tester runs on four "AA" batteries (sold separately).

ZTS MBT-1 Reviews

Excellent quality that I expect to last for many years

Love this battery tester. The design is simple to use and easy to understand. It is an improvement over my basic multimeter testing, the load testing gives more detail about the capacity of the battery over time, not just how much charge it has right now. Love that it covers a wide range of household batteries, including the smaller button cells, pretty much everything I have in the house. Being made in USA gives me more confidence that this device will last me for years, which makes the price feel worthwhile. I have only had it for a short time so can't attest to actual longevity, fingers crossed.

Buy one!

I'm loving this battery tester so much I'm getting one for my son on his birthday. I've got so many devices with batteries--flashlights, bike computers, heart rate monitors, key fobs for the car, etc. Now I can test them, which prevents me from throwing away perfectly useable batteries, and failing to replace old ones that I might be depending on in an emergency. Directions do encourage you to occasionally clean tester and battery contacts before testing with 90 percent isopropyl alcohol. The tester also notes that fading batteries can be erratic, so they should be tested twice with a gap of several seconds in between. But those are minor obstacles for me.

As reaffirmation of B&H "Dan W's" feedback, "most digital cameras have the ability to display the charge percentage and provide other information about your battery's condition," and more accurately than any external battery tester.

We are not aware of the exact reasons or engineering behind how the ZTS MBT-1 Multi Battery Tester works in the way that it does. At the time of this posting the product has a very high review rating and works well for those who purchase it.
