Bolt PP-310 Reviews

Cyclone PP-310 Compact Power Pack and BO-CZ Canon Flash Cable Kit is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome!!! I bought two of these to power my speedlites when working on location jobs and they have performed flawlessly so far. After they were fully charged I shot more than 200 frames and they still show a full charge. The flashes weren't at full power but that's still impressive nonetheless. These things are light in weight and generally just a great product for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy again and recommend it. Pretty awesome battery pack. I shoot weddings and models, and used to run through dozens of batteries in one event. I've used to to charge my phone too (USB attachment sold separately).

question

Can I take this on a plane or is the Lithium-Ion battery too big?
Asked by: Keith M.
There is no issues with traveling on an airline with the Bolt Cyclone PP-310 Compact Power Pack. It is possible to either check the battery in your luggage or in your carry-on case, but the terminal cover on the battery must be in place to prevent the battery from shorting out and the battery must be off during transit. The lithium content in the battery is under the limit for airline travel.

question

I have the 430EX is the cable that is supplied compatible with this Canon Flash?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Canon 430EX (or II) is not compatible with a high voltage battery pack like the Bolt Cyclone or Quantum Turbo series batteries. The Quantum QB1+ 1 Battery is a 6V power source for most shoe-mounted flash units that use 4 or 5 AA batteries typically enough for 250 full power manual, and more than 1000 automatic flashes. This power source has colored LED indicators which acts as a fuel gauge so you can easily monitor battery capacity, and twin output jacks which allow two flashes to be powered together. Depending on usage, you will experience flash recycling times of 3.5 - 5 sec, 50% faster than times with AA batteries.http://bhpho.to/1mFkLif The Quantum MB2 cable will allow a QB1+ or QB1c battery pack to power a 430EX (II) flash.http://bhpho.to/JyLJiV

question

I just got this pack with canon cable. Instructions says to plug cable into pack and rotate the plug to lock it in. I tried rotating the plug but it will not rotate. I don't want to use a lot of force in case it breaks. Are we suppose to rotate the plug to lock it into the pack? Or is the instructions wrong?
Asked by: jin y.
You don't need to rotate. Just match the arrow on the cord and the small line on the pack and plug in. Once you have done that you are good to go! I have never had a problem with my canon cable falling out of the pack.

question

Does anybody have any specs or real world comparison to the Canon CP-E4N battery pack? We use them now and am wondering if this is a significant upgrade in recycle time and/or battery life.
Asked by: Joel K.
I bought thinking to reduce the cost with the batteries, and I use it with a Canon macro flash ME24I. But, I need to put batteries in the flash too in order to put it to work and I can't know the real capacity. So, I wouldn't recommended.
