Fujifilm Provia 100F overview

  • 1Description

Fujichrome Provia 100F Professional RDP-III from Fujifilm is a daylight-balanced color transparency film that exhibits a super-fine grain structure with vivid and naturally appearing colors and rich tonal rendition. It has a medium-speed nominal sensitivity of ISO 100/21° when processed in E-6, CR-56, or C6R processes and can effectively be pulled one half stop or pushed two stops with minimal variations in color balance and gradation. Excellent reciprocity characteristics also make this film highly suitable for use during long exposures and ensures consistent film speeds and coloring across multiple and extended exposures. Medium overall contrast and saturation make this film ideal for use in a wide range of photographic applications and is especially well-suited for use in product, landscape, nature, portraiture, and fashion photography.

This item is one box of 20 sheets of 4 x 5" color reversal film.

Fujifilm Provia 100F reviews

Fujichrome Provia 100F Professional RDP-III Color Transparency Film (4 x 5", 20 Sheets) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuji Velvia 100 Great Stuff! Fuji's Velvia is my go-to color transparency film in 4x5 . . .and 8x10 large format sheet film. Color saturation is vibrant for landscape imaging. Indors I us it f to create table top and still life compositions with daylight balanced strobes. I find the packaging to be helpful as well. Inside the sturdy triple box are two inner packs of ten sheets in mylar pouches (20 total). I can load ten film holders without having one or two sheets left over. Other manufacturers may package twenty-five in an inner pouch, which leaves an extrasheet when loading up for a shoot. I like my Fuji Velvia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome large format chrome! I use this film in a Graflex Crown Graphic with a 210mm f/6.1 lens that is synchronized with the rangefinder. As with the 35mm and 120 versions, 4 x 5 Provia renders accurate, pleasing skin tones and captures bright colors with the proper pop, but doesn't over-saturate them. The tonal range and depth of these chromes on the light table is amazing! This film also pushes well, up to two stops (ISO 400), meaning I can hand-hold the Crown Graphic in relativley low light. Whenever I have the Graflex with me, Provia 100 F is my go to color film!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this film exclusively in my large format work and get I like the fact that this film has less saturation and contrast than Velvia, which I have used. This is a real advantage in the bright desert sun where I do most of my work.I can always add more saturation and contrast after scanning in my transparencies , which I have been doing for years. The color accuracy is spot on and the film responds very well to recent LED scanner illumination sources, and recent pigment inks. Hopefully, Fuji will keep making this great film.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh, The Color I seldom shoot color film of any kind; I prefer black and white. But sometimes it just has to be used. I have tried Provia, Portra, and Ektar, but Provia is the sweet spot. The colors are close to true life, with just a bit of pop. Not great for skin tones (Portra is way better), but not the clown-like color of Ektar. I love it for anything floral or otherwise plant-related. And the tonal range is spectacular. I ran out of Provia recently, and had to substitute Portra for some shots. They look great, but they lack the extra pop. And the Portra was way more fragile. I spent a long time cleaning up scratches on the negatives, something I never have to do with Provia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Film Good contrast and grain structure! I have been using this film for my 4x5 landscape wrk for decades! As Fuji saysProfessional-quality, medium-speed, daylight-type color reversal film with ultrafine grain. And it is true.
