Cisco RV320 overview

  • 1Description

The RV320 Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Router from Cisco comes equipped with four Gigabit Ethernet Ports, one Gigabit WAN port, and one Gigabit Ethernet DMZ/Internet WAN port. The integrated DMZ/Internet WAN port provides a buffer zone between your personal or business network and the Internet for an additional layer of security. The dual Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports allow you to create and administer two separate subnets thus keeping one network separate from the other.

Should the incoming Internet connection fail, you can utilize one of the dual USB ports to insert a 3G/4G modem. Once the modem is inserted, that connection can then be shared with users throughout the network. In addition to connecting a USB modem, you can connect a flash drive to either USB port to share saved files and data with network users.

This Cisco router is designed with VPN functionality in mind as it supports up to 25 IPsec site-to-site tunnels ensuring your users in other locations can remain connected. You can also utilize both Cisco's VPN client as well as third-party VPN clients to establish VPN connections. Even when you're on the go the Cisco RV320 Router can keep you connected as it supports up to 10 SSL VPN tunnels eliminating the need for specific client software to access the VPN. All you need it a web browser to stay connected.

Dual Gigabit Ethernet WAN ports allow load balancing and business continuity.
Affordable, high-performance Gigabit Ethernet ports enable rapid transfer of large files, supporting multiple users.
Dual USB ports support a 3G/4G modem or flash drive. The WAN can also fail over to the 3G/4G modem connected to the USB port.
SSL VPN and site-to-site VPN enable highly secure connectivity, making the Cisco RV320 perfect for remote employees and multiple offices.
Stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall and hardware encryption provide strong security.
Easy-to-use wizard-based configuration tools can be used to establish network connectivity and manage security.

    Cisco RV320 reviews

RV320 Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Router is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as good as it looks I use this strictly as a basic router (neither the VPN nor the dual WAN function are used). As a router it works great. Easy setup, lots of options, USB backup ports, and fast. Also, it doesn't require constant clock updates (unlike my Netgear router). I installed my unit 3 weeks ago and the logs show no reboots or problems during this time. Also, the unit runs cool (not even warm to the touch), the layout of front panel is excellent and the overall looks are great. Very pleased and highly recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Set-up and good throughput Purchased this router because previous Cisco router is out of date and firmware is no longer available. This new router was easy to set-up and throughput was very good too. I read a lot of negative reviews about this router, but it seems as long as you immediately upgrade the firmware and then rest the outer all is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Real Router This supplants a 4 port wireless hub as the barrier between me and the cable company. This router has many more security features than the hub. I have a small Email server which is constantly under attach. Cisco make fine products.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lost Connectivity Daily I bought this to replace a 10-year old D-Link VPN router. It stills works fine, but is too slow. I hesitated buying this due to other reviews on the Net (Cisco Community) having to do with frequent loss of connectivity. I thought newer firmware will have solved this problem. It evidently did not. I only configured the firewall; I never got around to setting up any VPNs. I have had to reset this unit at least every morning. Even though it looks normal externally when it does this, I cannot ping it or connect to it, and it evidently passes no LAN/WAN traffic. My home is wired for Ethernet, and I have a VoIP phone system as well as other 24/7 devices. My D-Link router was always up until we would lose power. Resetting a router everyday is not an option. I like B&H in returns. I RMAed it. Others have reported that it works fine for them. Funny, but sad--I had to go reset this router to finish this review! I lost connectivity again! Fortunately, I did not pull my D-Link from my media center just in case. I will be swapping it back in tonight.
