edelkrone 80774 overview

  • 1Description

The SliderPLUS Large from edelkrone is a slider that uses a unique tracking mechanism that allows the rails of the slider to move with the camera when mounted on a tripod. This gives the slider 31.5" of sliding range in a unit that is only 21.1" long. Its compact sizes makes it ideal for travel, as it takes of up less room in your camera bag than other sliders with a similar sliding range. The slider supports loads up to 8.8 pounds.

The tracking system works by having two thin bands that are connected to each side of the mounting plate and base plate. When placed on a flat surface, the base plate travels in the opposite direction of the mounting plate. This will yield results of traditional slider. To take advantage of the design, the SliderPLUS needs to be mounted to a tripod. When mounted on a tripod, the movement of the base plate is restricted, causing the rails to move through the base plate in the same direction as the mounting plate.

With traditional sliders, you're often limited to the amount of dolly in/out you can do, because the slider itself usually will end up in the shot eventually. With the SliderPLUS, the rails are also retracting backwards with the camera, allowing for longer dolly in/out shots. A lock mechanism can be engaged to keep the slider from moving if the tripod becomes unlevel.

The slider provides a 3/8"-16 threaded hole at the bottom of the base plate for attaching to tripods, and comes with interchangeable 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 screws for mounting a camera or flat base tripod head to the mounting plate.

SliderPLUS Large (21.1") is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Faulty slider and poor customer service Sadly Edelkrone has very poor service even when they send faulty equipment to their customers. They have a very long response time to reply to emails and even when they do respond, they ignore half of the questions and requests for solving issues with faulty equipment. They have no phone number to contact them. Not sure why Edelkrone don't care about their customers.... would not recommend buying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game Changer Umm...I dont know where to start. This slider is not really a slider. Its a unicorn pretending to be a slider. Seriously though...I know how it works but can you really explain how a slider that is only 17 long has a sliding distance of 32? Like I said...Unicorn. Check out their website. This slider is way too legit. I pee my pants every time I use it. Plus...B&H accidentally priced the Large version for $$. So I bought it. Duh.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from half the size and double the slide!!! This product is built well and from the moment you open the box you know it is quality. I am very impressed with the smooth and free feeling sliding and it's unique design allows for straight on dollie like shots that are not capable with other sliders. I am very impressed with this slider and it is in my permanent tripod case and comes along on all my shoots wether large or small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Slider Smooth as butter, easy to setup and use, and compact for easy travel. Couldn't honestly ask for more in a slider. Also, because it's well built, the slider doesn't bend when you slide out to either end of it when mounted on a tripod. Perhaps if you load it to its carrying capacity or beyond this might be possible, however for more DSLR or mirrorless setups, it's not a problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from To use it you need to keep an Allen key in your pocket It is not a butter smooth slider. I used Syrp Magic Carpet. Compare with Syrp,it's construction is much lower quality. The cloth belt is made with very cheap material and getsloose so quickly. I used it on the Manfrotto tripod. I set up 502 head top of the slider. It can stay solid but the does 'Tik Tik movement. I tried many times to adjust but not able to fix. I did adjustment to move the slider smoothly. But after using few hours, it does not move smoothly again. Slider often touches the cloth belt and sound like sharpening the knife. So I had to do adjustment again. There are many little wheels andwe have to check which one or two or three are not moving and tight them accordingly and individually. I have usedother sliders which I can tightone singlescrew and it appliesto all wheels. But how tight is the perfect tight? We are wedding photography - videography company. Wehave to shoot not fixing the slider. Yes, the slider travels about 1.5 times more than it's length. It is definitelya very big plus. Before purchasing, I read all reviews. It is a very pricey for this kind of cheap material slider. I expected very solid quality. It is well finished. Box and package are nice. But we need the slider, not the package. If anyone who is good at screwing tight and loose, and has plenty of time, then this slider probably good for them. Paying seven hundred bucks for two piecesof aluminumbars and become like a handyman to use it is not much fun for me.
