There isn't any cat rating on this so I was a little leery of its quality. But I hooked up two of these and some poorly made cat 5 cables and still got good transfer rates. It may not be cat 5 rated but it passes data like it is. Good price too.
This is a basic device that you'll wish you had when your ethernet cable is short and all you have is another one that's too short but together they would reach.. However, beware that the plastic shell on this maybe isn't as secure as you might hope. Mine has popped apart multiple times. A bit of superglue will rectify that issue.
