Been a while since I have been in the darkroom. I am still able to produce the great prints I used to on Ilford Multigrade FB Classic Paper.

I used a 75 watt equivalent LED bulb and the paper took to it really well. No visible difference in contrast between the LED vs incandescent in my opinion. It’s not SUPER glossy, think granite countertop kinda glossy (this could be my fault as I’m pretty new to dark room printing), but I like the look of it all the same. It’s nice and sturdy, very forgiving, and with 25 sheets you can get many practice runs.

I've not used every paper on the market but I've tried a variety of them and one paper I always come back to and could not do without is Ilford's Multigrade Fibre Base Classic (Glossy). Exposure and development is straightforward with Ilford chemistry and with the Ilford Multigrade Filter Set, acquiring the desired contrast is a cinch.

It's been a while since I've been in the darkroom, 2002 to be exact, and I was concerned that photographic paper quality may have suffered in the interim. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this Ilford multigrade FB paper. The gloss is moderate and the fiber feel is indeed classic. I never liked RC paper and am very glad to have this fiber-based alternative from Ilford.
