The Sunwayfoto DYH-90Ri Leveling Base is a simple and useful accessory that will make it far easier to be certain your camera will remain parallel to the ground, especially when shooting panoramic photos.

Laser-engraved index marks on the platform provide calibrated precision for panoramic images. This base is also valuable when changing from horizontal to vertical format with a ball head, as any slight shift is quickly compensated for with the leveling base. It is mounted between your tripod and your camera, has a large removable built-in bubble level, and 16° of tilt to quickly and easily keep your camera right where you want it. The 90mm-diameter platform is ideal for medium format or larger cameras.

DYH-90Ri Rotating Leveling Base is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product I am using this underneath a copy stand easel to provide adjustability. The 66 lb. load rating is reassuring as some large books will end up on that easel, none approaching 66 lbs. but its good that its overrated. The leveling action is great with, so far, zero slop before, during, or after tightening. The action is perfectly damped as far as I can tell. The most impressive thing though, I think, is the rotation. Between the many tripods heads and accessories I have, from Gitzo, Benro, Sinar, Manfrotto, and RRS, none of their rotation movements are truly smooth in the sense that they rotate as much or as little as I want without scooting and truly precise rotation is hit or miss; in that every important (vital, I would cal it) this leveling base rotates and tightens best.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty Leveling Base I wish I could give 4.5 stars. I can't, so I rounded up to 5 stars. I wasn't certain what load capacity to look for in leveling base. I went for a heavier model because I wanted to come meet or exceed the load capacity of the fluid video head I planned to use. Pros. The leveling portion of the unit is well damped, to the point where it may seem difficult to move without a load on it. I like to level before I mount stuff on it, so.... Panning is VERY smooth, with just the right amount of damping to turn it. The unit is all metal, heavy, and just breathes heavy duty construction. Nice build quality. Large bubble level seems pretty accurate, and adjustable if it is not. Cons. The leveling maybe a little too damped, but too much is better than too little, because I can adjust the tilt and move the bubble around inside of the bulls eye circle. Is that really a con? The locking knob, as shipped, can rotate nearly 180 degrees, but mine went from nearly straight up to nearly straight down. Good thing you can adjust the start point, so that it goes from horizontal to horizontal. Overall, this unit is easy to adjust to level, though not very fast because of the damping. While the rotation of the locking knob had an awkward range, the instructions tell you how to readjust the knob to turn over the range that you desire, which I found easy to do. I wanted to mount this on a 100mm ball adapter, so having the knob go below the horizon was unacceptable. It pans much smoother than my Manfrotto 502 video head. Highly recommended. Leveling a tripod head, or a camera with the addition of a clamp, is far easier than leveling a set of legs, or even a leveling ball adapter for that matter. Leveling the legs gets you close. Leveling with a base adapter gets you precise. My ball adapter was most imprecise. This unit cured that problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product and I would purchase it agian. I image panoramas and many times the ground is not level. I needed to adjust the tripod legs while balancing the ball head and camera. Leveling the tripod with with this leveling base takes a few secons. This is an acurrate, practical, time saving product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Like Unit - But ! The unit works as advertised and is a well made piece of machinery. However, I could see or would like things a bit different. First is the stubby mounting top screw. Second is the release lever for leveling. Both IMO are not designed for rough field work. Top screw needs to be slightly longer and IMO larger thread arrangement there for ball heads, mounting plate, etc. The plastic side lever is not real stout. Would prefer a thumb knob instead. Additionally the longer stem mount for that lever needs to be half of the length it is. The leveling lever is light weight and hangs out waiting for a branch to snag it on the backpack. I understand the long stem for clearing tripod legs and heads, but a thumb knob would not be any issue there. So, although well machined product and works well it was not designed for a field nut like me with MF & LF gear in tow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built and works great. I use this under a Wimberly Gimbal Tripod Head II for bird photography and so far it has worked great. The leveling base is built like a tank and the movement is nicely dampened under the heavy loading of the Gimbal head and photo gear. It's not a light weight but works great where weight can be a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The combi leveller and rotator is perfect for me It is a great combination of function and the levelling mechanism is so intuitive and easy to use - much faster than levellers with several screws to very angle. It is a heavy duty product and all movements atr silky smooth and damped. one wish is a few ounces lighter weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Leveling head plus pano This is a really rock solid workhorse with glass smooth movement. and the best is that it combines a leveling head with a pano head at a reasonable price.
