question

The Watson BLN-1 is rated at 7.2V whereas the Olympus BLN-1 is rated at 7.6V - I'm not an EE but doesn't that make the Watson battery incompatible with Olympus cameras that expect 7.6V?
Asked by: William D.
1) Yes, I checked with a multimeter and the Watson does indeed deliver a half volt less than the Olympus battery. (Under no-load conditions, 7.97 vs. 8.5 volts)2) However, as others have noted, it charges fine in the Oly charger and performs adequately in my E-M5 mark I. 3) I expect that Olympus has optimized their cameras to perform at full spec with partially discharged batteries, and that Watson still delivers enough voltage for proper operation.

question

Will this work for the E-M10?
Asked by: Anonymous
This battery is not compatible with the E-M10. BLN-1 batteries are for the E-M1 and E-M5II. The E-M10 takes BLS-5 batteries.
