Nitecore P12 overview

  • 1Description

Compact, lightweight, and versatile, the P12 LED Tactical Pocket Flashlight from Nitecore can serve as everything from an everyday carry torch to a weapon light, and is suited to law enforcement, military, recreational, and home use. Its white Cree XM-L2 (U2) LED offers four outputs from 1 to 1000 lumens. Press the 2-stage push-button tailcap switch for momentary activation or click it for constant on. The output intensity, strobe, location beacon, and SOS signal are controlled using an intelligent selector switch on the body. The switch remembers the last output intensity used and automatically goes to that output the next time it is turned on, even with momentary activation. An illuminated battery-status indicator is integrated into the selector switch.

Built for durability, the light features an aluminum housing with a Type III hard-anodized black finish that resists scratching and corrosion. It is O-ring sealed to be IPX8-rated submersible to 6.6' and impact-resistant to 5'. A textured diamond pattern is machined into the handle to provide a sure grip, and there is a removable tactical ring that fits on the handle for use with a 'cigar-style' two-handed pistol grip. Using separately sold Nitecore mount and remote switch accessories, it can be used as a weapon light. The light can run on 1 x 18650 or 2 x CR123 li-ion rechargeable, or 2 x CR123 disposable batteries. There is reverse-polarity protection that prevents damage to the light's circuitry if the batteries are put in incorrectly.

    Nitecore P12 reviews

P12 LED Tactical Pocket Flashlight is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Authentic Awesomeness I have purchased probably 100 items over the years from B&H.... I was searching for this flashlight and feared fake eBay items so I thought, whoa! What about B&H.... Yup! Very competive pricing so I searched no further. I know I will get authentic items here. Actually the charger for this light has a validation code and you input it on Nitecore website to authenticate your purchase is not fake. So I get my stuff and now get to play with it. This light I will use at work and after using it for a day I can tell you it ROCKS! Quality, feel, performance, all are A+ scores. Thank you B&H for continuing to meet my needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everything you want at a great price! As a firearms instructor I am absolutely recommending this Tactical Light to my students. It does everything as advertised and is a great price for the features. There are really only two things I would change if I had the chance. 1: The mode button can be a little hard to find in a panic situation. If you left your light on a lower setting, or want to get to the strobe fast it can be a challenge. Not hard to overcome but definitely need to work out the muscle memory on it. 2: The strobe is a bit fast. It's still effective but if they slowed the strobe down a bit it would be far more effective. Other than those items I am very pleased with Nitecore and will continue to refer my students to them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little powerful light I have the EA41 (love it), and it lights up my backyard, but doesn't fit in my pocket. It's great for the home or a vehicle, but not so much for the pocket. So I grabbed a pair of P25 lights - one to carry in my pocket, the other for my wife's purse. I started using this light on dark walks back to my car late Saturday nights while carrying thousands of $$$ in camera gear. This thing is seemingly as powerful and blinding in Turbo mode at night or a dark room as the EA41 - just doesn't have a wide and full of a beam. This thing is built like a tank - strong enough as a self defense piece if needed. Set the light on the floor or a table and aim it at the ceiling and it will light up a fairly small room to a reasonable degree - whether on turbo mode or a lesser mode. No you don't really need a user manual for this light. The on/off memory button is on the butt-end. The mode button is on the barrel near the front of the light. Just short click the mode button, and it changes beam intensity. Press and hold the mode button for a few seconds, and it changes to strobe. Press and hold the mode button a few seconds (again), and it changes to SOS. Press and hold the mode button a few seconds (yet again), and it changes to a beacon signal. Press/short click the button at any time during a special mode, and you go back the last regular beam prior to your special mode setting. Whatever mode or intensity you last left the light on prior to turning it off, is the same mode/intensity the light returns to when you turn the light back on. Easy peasy On con, and it's not a biggie - the front end around the bulb gets a bit hot during turbo mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely bright and easy to use This is the brightest flashlight I have ever seen; 10 times brighter than the best tactical flashlights of just a few years ago. Last night during a heavy windstorm, I was able to examine the roof shingles on my two-story house as if it were daylight. The use of separate buttons for on/off control and for control of the brightness/mode options makes this multi-function flashlight extremely easy to use. The on/off button has both momentary and locking positions, which is important in tactical situations. The guard-wings around the tailcap on/off button allow the flashlight to stand upright on the tailcap, for use as an emergency candle indoors during a power outage. The build quality is excellent. I am very pleased with this light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent torch I had a P20 and bought this one for major security of the ON switch at the bottom. Both of them are very good and make the same amount of light, portable and with rechargeable batteries. Not so fan of the strobe, can't make a use of it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Makes people turn their heads.. Away. Very bright. I mounted it on my bike and people have to turn their heads away when riding towards me. I've dropped it on the cement a couple of times and it didn't even get a dent. Good buy whatever your lighting needs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great but not awesome as the GT version Purchased 2 of the regular P12's only to realize the reach wasn't to my preference. Planned to use these in light painting at night, so the strobe feature along w the different LED levels are a big plus in my book. Opted to exchange for the P12GT version and the new P10GT. Both have a more powerful LED (CREE XP-L HI V3) and 200% further reach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and bright Great carry around light fits in my wife's purse and is strong enough for her to use as a defensive weapon too. I would have liked to have seen a set of the batteries included they are pricey and were difficult to find they are a size I have never seen or used before.
