The Audix OM2 and i5 Vocal and Guitar Miking Kit from B&H includes the OM2 handheld vocal mic, and i5 dynamic instrument mic, and the CabGrabberXL guitar amp mounting system. The kit can be used for miking instruments and vocals both live and in the studio.
The OM2 has a hypercardioid polar pattern for high off-axis rejection and features a slight boost in the mid-range, making it tuned for most vocal applications. The i5 is a dynamic mic that is capable of handling SPLs up to 140dB and is designed for miking guitar cabinets and snare drums in addition to general purpose applications. The included CabGrabberXL allows you to mount either the OM2 or i5 to your guitar cabinet by clamping onto the side or top of the cab. It can be used in both studio and live settings to assure your mic placement isn't accidently changed.
The Audix OM2 is a handheld hypercardioid dynamic microphone designed to deliver highly directional capture of vocals and instruments in recording sessions and live stage applications. It boasts low handling noise and a hypercardioid polar pattern, which not only minimizes feedback caused by nearby monitors and speakers, but also reduces the pickup of stage bleed and room ambience. The dynamic element's low-mass diaphragm responds quickly to transients and handles sound pressure levels up to 140 dB.
It produces a frequency response of 50 Hz to 16 kHz with a mild rise centered at approximately 150 Hz along with a moderate presence boost above 2 kHz. The gold-plated XLR 3-pin output ensures compatibility with most microphone preamps and mixer inputs, and the zinc alloy body with a dent-resistant steel mesh grille provides road-ready protection and durability. The OM2 was designed, assembled, and tested in the USA, and ships with a microphone clip and carrying pouch.The Audix i5 instrument microphone is an ideal solution for sound reinforcement and recording applications. The dynamic capsule features a cardioid polar pattern with a linear frequency response, capable of accurately reproducing signals at high sound pressure levels (SPL). The cardioid pattern effectively minimizes noise and ambiance at the off-axis sections of the capsule, reducing feedback and audio leakage caused by adjacent instruments. The i5 is ideal for capturing snare drum, percussion, guitar and bass cabinets, horns and vocals.
The Audix CabGrabber-XL Guitar Amp Mic Mounting System makes it easy to mount your i5 or other microphone (up to 1 pound) directly to your guitar amp or cabinet. This durable steel clamp is easy to install and eliminates the need for mic stands which take up valuable floor space.
