Impact FF-OF4 Reviews
Great design

Rated 5 out of 5

I’ve used other 4 socket fixtures. This one is superior because the placement of the sockets accommodate larger lights and the angle locking is toothed, so it holds the fixture and reflector firmly. I use it for LEDs rated to 4-600 watt equivalents.
Works well, a bit plasticky

Does its intended function, holds 4 bulbs with up to 85W per socket. The construction isn't the greatest, the knobs have a cheap plastic feel to them. The cable is a bit short, but extension cables solve the problem.

question
Does it support 105w Eiko Spiral Fluorescent Lamp? Or 85W? Because in your video man says its 50W. Let's make it clear. Or delete video, please.
According to the manufacturer, the physical size of the 105 watt lamps only allows for one of those lamps to be used in the one of the sockets at a time. For the physical size of the 85 watt lamp, that limits you to using two of them at a time. Using 50 watt lamps is largest physical lamp that will allow you to use four lamps at once.

question
Will this work safely with a Westcott Apollo Orb or other Westcott Apollo modifiers?
No, the fixture with the bulbs is too large and will hit the softbox.

question
Does FF-OF4 have an umbrella receptacle like the Impact 4-socket fluorescent fixture (FF-S4) has?
Yes, there's a small hole right in the center of the four lights where the umbrella handle slides in. There is a metal pressure clip in the back that holds the umbrella in place. I have found it to work well so far. You can see it in the photo of the front view.

question
I have the above lamp, which came with 4 Eiko 26W florescents. The combined effect is somewhat underwhelming in brightness. Can this same lamp accommodate or withstand the use of the Eiko 40W or 50W bulbs listed elsewhere on B&H?
Personally, I use 4 LED bulbs (760 lumens/60w equivalent) instead of fluorescents. My setup involves using the Impact boom with the lamp, where it is positioned above the subject to increase ambient light, decrease shadows for portrait work. As well as, off camera flash to add character to the shot. As you may already know, Impact diffused lighting tend to be warm; therefore, higher bulb (LED) output tend to increase the lighting for the environment.

question
Does it support E27 base bulbs?
Yes. E26 bulb can fit in E27 base and an E27 bulb can fit in E26 base without problem. The sockets / bulbs are interchangeable.

question
Will this fit onto most light stands or just Impact stands?
This fixture should fit any standard light stand.I have both multiple Impact stand models as well as Manfrotto light stands, and these fixtures will fit all of them.
