The M3-6 Three-Way Active Studio Monitor from M-Audio is a powered reference speaker that is designed for mixing and monitoring in the home, or the studio. The speaker's three-way design incorporates a 6" woven Kevlar low-frequency driver and a 5" woven Kevlar mid-frequency driver with an in-line 1" silk dome tweeter with integrated waveguide. This in-line design allows sound to be delivered along the same focal plane, lending to improved time-alignment for less ear fatigue during extended listening sessions.
The three speakers are powered by a 160-watt class A/B tri-amplified system, which ensures high output and ample headroom. The M3-6 also has a three-band EQ and a switchable low-cut filter. These settings can be adjusted to customize the tuning of the speaker to compensate for acoustical deficiencies that may be present in your monitoring environment.
The M3-6 has been designed with flexibility in mind, featuring XLR, TRS and RCA inputs. The drivers have been housed in a real wood baffle, providing tuned bass porting and optimized internal bracing for consistent, high-fidelity sound reproduction.
