cable for Apple Cinema Display

I have a new Apple M1 Mac mini and an Apple Cinema Display. This is the ONLY CABLE you need to connect them together (assuming you already have the associated power brick & its cables). For about $15 you can use an old reliable monitor with the newest M1 Mac mini. I tried 3 or 4 other cables (spending about $200) from B&H in addition to other retail/online sellers - none of them worked. This cable does the job

Great product

question

Can you use this to make dual monitors?
Asked by: Anonymous
That is exactly what I used it for. I'm running a 20 Apple Cinema Display from my 15 Mac Pro. From same I'm also running an EIZO monitor with HDMI. So I can use all 3 screens at one time.

question

Hi! I am trying to connect a vga monitor to a hdmi laptop. I have two adapters : DVI male/VGA female and a HDMI male/ DVI -D female. It's not working. It's because DVI D can't br concerted to vga? Which is the solution? Thanks
Asked by: Valentina G.
The connectors may all fit together but HDMI uses a signal to detect if there is anything connected to it. The HDMI to DVI adapter carriers that signal through. Going DVI to VGA may not carry the signal through. You may want to try using adapters separatley on something else to see if they all actually work. If they do then it is probably a signal issue.
