The Profoto Flashtube, 600 Watt/Seconds, UV Coated - for ComPactPlus Monolight, B&H # PRFTUVCPP • MFR # 331511, was the correct flash tube for use with the older Profoto ComPact-R 600 Monolight strobes. Unfortunately, both the strobes and the flash tubes were discontinued around 2010 and are no longer available for purchase. None of the current Profoto flash tubes would be compatible with the older Profoto ComPact 600 monolights, and there are no recommendations for third-party flash tubes for use with this unit. Profoto does not recommend using any flashtubes other than the one that the unit was designed around. Using another flashtube could have adverse affects on the units power board and potentially cause failures.

How do you know if you need to replace the light ...
How do you know if you need to replace the light (tube) my firing is getting less consistent. Or will the thing just stop working all together? It's pretty pricey and I don't want to have to buy a new one if this isn't the case.
You'll know when it needs to be replaced - it will "pop" and the light will no longer work. BEWARE if you replace it yourself. It is not as simple as pulling out the old one and putting in the new one. There is a paperclip-looking thing that is wound around the bulb on the opposite side than the plugs. You need to use pliers to unwind this BEFORE you pull the old bulb out of your B1. If you pull this paper clip out of it's socket, your unit will become inoperable and you will have to send it to ProFoto. Unwind this, pull the old bulb out, insert the new tube and then wind the wire from the paper clip thing around the new tube. Not that hard to do, but you need to be careful!

question
Does it works with the B1X? And is it a 4-5 times more resistant tube like the one for D2?
I believe it is the same tube for the B1, B1x, D1 and D2. But I dont own a D2. The best way to get your answer is check the replacement tubes for the B1 and B1x on the B&H online site...
