Liquid Notes from Re-Compose is a stand-alone instrument and plug-in that combines a composer, songwriting partner, arranger and a set of specific controls and functions. Drag and drop a MIDI file onto the program and it displays the corresponding chord symbols and a piano-roll view of the notes in any track. Regardless of the complexity and style of the arrangements, Liquid Notes provides an accurate analysis of the music and provides a base for changes and alterations to selected tracks or an entire arrangement.
The software allows for transforming the chords and harmonic progression of the MIDI file using a drop-down chord selector, changing the functionality and directionality of any chord, or adding varying degrees of tension and harmonic color with a twist of a knob. Liquid Notes routes the MIDI data back to the sequencer, using all the software instruments of the original arrangement. When the editing process is completed, the results are recorded back to the sequencer.
Liquid Notes syncs to the DAW and allows for playback via the instrument plug-ins inserted on the corresponding tracks using Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, Sonar, Ableton Live, Studio One, Reaper, Reason, or other DAW software. It also works in conjunction with music notation software such as Sibelius, Final and more. Additionally, the software functions standalone using built-in virtual synthesizers for when there's a need or desire to do some quick prototyping of any musical ideas. Use a keyboard controller (or even QWERTY computer keyboard) and benefit from the software's algorithms to assign the input to correctly relating scales and chords.
*Live only supports single-track MIDI exports and does not include tempo information when exporting MIDI
