The Gimbal for Phantom 2 Quadcopter is a motorized stabilization and control system for mounting a GoPro HERO specifically to the Phantom 2 Quadcopter. The gimbal integrates with the flight control system to provide automatic compensation against unwanted aircraft motion, and provides two axes of stabilization: tilt and roll. The tilt aspect can also be operated manually via a lever that attaches to the back of the Phantom 2 Transmitter allowing you to adjust the camera angle in flight.
This gimbal compatible with the HERO3 and HERO3+ GoPro models, and will not support older HERO versions because of their size and lack of required connectivity. If you are using a video transmitter, a composite video feed from the GoPro is relayed through the gimbal to the controller board inside the Phantom 2. A video output port inside the Phantom 2 allows you to splice in the input wire for the video transmitter.
Note: The gimbal is specifically compatible with the Phantom 2 Quadcopter; it cannot be used with any version of the original Phantom.
